Charting q's

Hi ladies,

Ive decided that if I dont get my next week then Im going to have a go at charting. Ive signed up with FF and have found a whole new world of info on there.
My question is where do I get a basal thermometer from? Ive seen them on an auction site but would rather just go and buy one from a store when I need it.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Ta in advance.

Thanks girls, yes Loula I am in the uk.

I think I'll try the chemist in town....do they come with instructions? Lol, I know that sounds daft but I am really oblivious to all this charting stuff!

Main thing to do is remember to take your temp at the same time each morning. You should have at least 3 hours uninterrupted sleep. Have the thermometer by the bed so you don't have to move, as any movement will increase your temp! Don't drink any water, speak or anything before you take your temp. Best to set your alarm for an early time, take your temp, then fall asleep again - the thermometer has a memory! It becomes second nature v quickly!!! Good luck!!

PS if you've signed up for the FF lessons, you'll learn loads about taking your temps so don't worry!

Good luck - like most things on here it becomes very addictive stressing over your chart and remembering to temp at the right time before running the loo!

you can get one from mothercare/boots also.....basically with charting u need to make sure u take ur temp every morning at the same time so set ur alarm or summit....jus make sure u leave it beside ur bed on a table/floor then get it and pop it under ur tongue untill it beeps and says ur temp and then remember it...lol then i can cuddle oh or talk....i dont think its as strict as lay down or get it....jus do whats ever easyest to reach ur them jus dont be going to the toilet first.....good luck x x x x

Just have it next to the bed and you should be fine! I think the idea is that you shouldn't have to actually get out of bed to get it! Also, make sure your mouth is properly closed around the thermometer for a better reading.
