Unhappy

abnormal period

hi girls

really need some help. i was a week late on my period and got excited (i know silly me huh?) anyway on saturday i did a test but it was negative however i thought id ive it another week.

sunday morning i went for a wee and when wiping noticed i was spotting.

by lunchtime i assumed my period had started...

by tea time i waa in agony the blood was flowing out of me like water - in fact it felt like my waters were breaking everytime i stood up. to top things i was clotting quite alot.

my hubby rushed me to a&e where they did a blood test and said my haemoglobin(soz for the spelling) was low as was my blood pressure. they gave me some paracetamol and sent me home. i was still feeling dizzy and sick.

been to my gp today and he is sending me for a scan and has given me tranexamic acid tablets to take 2 tablets three time a day - apparantly this thickens the blood to ease bleeding.

i have had a cyst on my ovaries in the past as a little girl.

im really fightened. has anyone else had anything simlar and what happened? any thoughts or ideas welcome. im scared because i dont want to be told one day that i cant have kids becasue of a problem left undetected

thanks in advance ladies!!!xxxx

So sorry you're going through this 'unpleasantness'. Not quite the same thing, but I had a period very similar to this when I was about 15 (I'd only had periods for about 6 months so they were still quite erratic). I remember just having blood pouring out and I was in a lot of pain. It was a bad day for me to wear my white jeans out!!! Although it eased in severity, the period then preceeded to last 2 weeks. I hope yours clears up much sooner.

Good luck and I hope you feel better very soon.

They found out that one of my nieces had a cyst on one of her ovaries when she was pregnant with her first (she also ended up having endometriosis and had to have surgery to have the cyst and the fibers removed)--but she conceived another child within four months of the surgery. Don't give up hope
