Hello,
Ok - your cycle length is the whole thing (your period days as well as the rest), this might effect the results you get from the ovulation calendars.
You can't really tell if you're ovulating on the days those calendars say because they just tell you the date that most women would ovulate on.
If you want to chart your ovulation you can use OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) which work a bit like pregnancy tests, they measure hormone levels in urine. You could also / or chart your waking temperatures using a basal thermometer. You can use a website like FertilityFriend / MyMonthlyCycles to help you work out when you're ovulating.
With regards to testing - if you can leave it a couple of days and try again, your hormone levels might not be detectable yet. If you're really worried you could go to your drs and ask for a blood test.

hope you get you
