So I got my first ever bumper package of OPKs and HPTs today but since is still here I had to settle for reading the instructions. I have used billions of brands of HPTs in the past, and 3 different brands of OPK, and none of them have told me this little gem before:

"Collect urine in a clean dry container and let it reach room temperature before testing (about 30 minutes)"

I have never waited 30 mins (I don't know if I physically could!!!)

Any thoughts girls? Did u all know this already but were keeping it from me?

It says the same in the instructions for both OPKs and HPTs.

i never really heard about waiting till it gets room temp to dip a stick o_O

I never heard that either, all the tests I took said to do the test immediately

Yes- it says I should use the stick immediately after opening the packet, but to let the pee *cool* so to speak!

I vaguely remember something about room temperature being important for chemical reactions? Nellis10 where are u hun!!!!

I will have to do a scientific test- one with fresh hot pee and another with cooled pee from the same pot and will post the results! (You'll have to wait a week or so tho as I'm only CD6!)

OMG i have used sooooo many of these internet cheapies (OPKs and HPTs) and never even noticed it said that

last month i was getting faint lines on the HPTs as well.... maybe the Hot Wee was causing evaps

The OPK's I had this month said that .... I never managed to wait 30 mins tho! perhaps that's why I never got a +?

I've got those ones! I do let mine cool down although I sometimes can't wait quite the half an hour

maybe thats why I dont get a pos on IC opks?

I never let mine cool down but i've never had a really dark line!
