Short luteal phase

Well the surprised me this month at 9DPO - FF is saying my luteal phase was 8 days. Is this too short for implantation? I've read on the net that this can make ttc difficult and may need treatment. Anyone know anything about this? If I go to the doc, how many cycles do I need to show them to prove it?

i have a short luteal phase , 7 days usually max and i charted for three months before GP would believe me that things weren't right. GP said 7 days would be long enough for an egg to implant/chemicals in your body to tell it not to bleed etc but ive read that it needs to be at least 10days on the internet. I tried Vitamin B6 which also helps some people but this has done nothing for me, in fact ive not ovulated this month so it might have done that, who knows

I hate it when docs don't take u seriously - I think mine will prob b like that. So with B6 do u take it for the whole cycle or is it one of those u have 2 stop after OV?
Looks like ur cycle is messing u around something terrible. Hope it sorts itself out soon or the doc takes notice xx

You should look into using a progesterone cream in the 2ww. You can get it from health stores I think and it should help in lengthening your LP. You can also get progesterone tablets from your doctor.

Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C are also supposed to help and since taking both my LP has increased from 12-13 days to 14-15 days.

I've just been reading up - I think u can take them together, but u hav 2 stop taking the agnus cactus after OV as u shudn't take it when ur pg. May be wrong so don't take my word for it. Think I'm going to give the B6 a go.

I think I have a short lutheal phase too - about 9-10 days so just on the cusp. From what I've read, this can make implantation quite difficult. My dr looked at me strangely when I mentioned it tho and pretty much said as long as it's longer than a week, I'll be fine. But am having blood tests anyway to check that I produce enough pregestorene (can't spell).

I take vitb6 but this doesn't seem to have helped this cycle. I'd still recommend taking vitb6 though (start with 50mg then go up to 100mg if that doesn't work) and chart for a coupla months to take your 'evidence' to your dr. Most drs won't see you about fertility issues until you've been trying for a year but my advice is lie - tell him you've bene trying for a year. Tee hee, that's what I did and hence why I'm due to go for a blood test in an hour! x

Trixielox is right, my GP said 7 days was sufficient for egg to implant, which still didn't inspire me as i average 5 days. I took three and half charts to GP, who looked at them and said i she wouldn't send me for day21 tests but would refer me to a specilaist once hubby has done his sperm tests, so it does pay to take evidence with you that they can visibly see
