Any advice..? (opk & cm question)

Hiya Gals,

Im TTC after an early m/c a couple of weeks ago. I was due af around 14th April but m/c on 23rd April which lasted until 25th april (spotted lightly from 20th to 23rd). Ive bought some OPK's as I didnt want to wait for af after m/c to keep ttc'ing and have tested from CD 5 (I assumed CD1 to be 23rd April as this was start of heavy bleeding). anyway, I have not managed to get a dark postive line on these as yet but Im wondering if this could be because I cant hold my pee longer than an hour or so!! Ive tried and I really cant lol! Ive also been watching my CM too, which started off dryish and slightly yellow this changed to watery and clear around CD 10 and got like ewcm on cd 12 - cd 16. Ive also been doing the opk's till now too but have shown neg. Im now on CD 18 and my cm has gone back to slightly yellow and dryish again.....

Do you think I ov'd inbetween CD 10 and CD 16? or would I get a pos on an opk if I had? The longest Ive held my pee is about an hour and a half but not on every day

Thanks Girls

you need to not drink much about 2 hours before you test with opks. That might help you get a darker line if you are Oing...it does sound like you did O around CD 12-16. When I had lots of ewcm I got negatives on my opks and then got a positive when I had ewcm but not as much. I would always BD around the time when your cm is ewcm as it helps keep the sperm alive longer. Lots of for you!!!!

Hiya

Sorry to hear about your M/C.
Have you tried doing your OPKs in the morning first thing when you wake? I used CB OPKs at the time and did them in the morning - last month they gave me my smiley no worries??
I know what you mean during the day though as i drink 2-3ltr of water a day and seem to pee every hour so i don't think i could do it during the day!!
Your CM sounds promising though? You could always chart your temp as well to be on the safe side? i've got one from ebay and it was less than a fiver??
Good luck! x

Sorry for your loss
It does sound like you have OVd when you thought. You do need to hold your pee as it needs to be concentrated to get a positive. I wish you luck for this cycle but if you don't get a consider temping or if you can afford it a CBFM for your next cycle.

Thanks for your replies ladies.
I do think Im doing all this opk thing wrong, lol. I always thought it best not to do it in the morning, but this would be when my pee is most concentrated. I will consider this for next cycle if I dont get a this one.
I have heard of charting your temp but am not quite sure on how to do this...Im sure a quick google will sort me out though!
Im almost positive I have O'd this month and thinking about it I went to the races on thurs (CD 15), and didnt do opk on this day as I didnt get chance...Im thinking I could have O'd then!

Do you only get a positive on one day in your cycle? I bet I missed it, but plenty of BD ing since my m/c (every other day) so its hopeful I caught it.

Hello,

So sorry you had a m/c x

OPKs - http://www.peeonastick.com/opkfaq.html#10 this website was posted on here before and it's fantastic (I think!).

Re. FMU it says -

10. Should I use first morning urine (FMU) with OPK's?

No. LH is synthesized early in the day, and is not metabolized into your urine until later. So, as a rule, you are more likely to catch your surge later in the day. ("They" say you should test sometime around 2-4 p.m., but I've had fine luck at 10 p.m.-midnight.) Using FMU may not be a problem for you, but if you do not detect a surge during the cycle you use FMU, try testing later during the next cycle.
Note: the Clearblue Fertility Monitor is the exception. The FM Monitor does require FMU.

My first month using OPKs I used the 40 mlU sticks and didn't get a proper positive (just got two lines on a couple of days but the second line wasn't dark enough to be a proper positive).

This month I used 15 mlU sticks and they've worked lots better for me. I use them at around 5 pm but do a couple a day around when I expect O time.

I'm taking my temperature too & it's reassuring to see my temperatures are giving me the same indications as the sticks!

Hiya

Sorry about yor m/c

I had a m/c on April 22nd and I havent ovulated yet, I have had ewcm, I also chart and use opk's. You will proberbly ovulate late maybe not at all I hate to say. You shouldnt use fmu with opk's. the poas website is really good, loads of info on there for you.

good luck, may we both get our ovulation very soon
