Hi, sorry all I haven't posted for a while I've been feeling down about this TTC business as nothing is happening but feeling more positive at the mo.
Basically I have been noting my periods for the past three years and every 12 months I have had 14 cycles. I am now on my 10th cycle of TTC since September 07 (this is now the 9th month) I was wondering if the Dr will ask me to wait a whole 12 months before seeking answers to why we are not conceiving or do you think 12 cycles will be enough?
Has anyone experienced this?
My DH visited his GP this week to ask for a sperm test and told him this was our 10th TTC cycle but he told my DH to go back after 12 months. Dh also told him that we have been using the CBFM for 6 cycles now – the doctor said that he did not like fertility monitors and as long as we are Bding twice a week we should conceive, he didn't sound very supportive to me.
I think the the official definition of "infertility" is 12mo without conceiving - I bet that is what your doc is going on.
Still, I think that any doc who dismisses his patients off hand like yours did is pretty crappy. . . I thought it was supposed to be a helping profession!

Hiya
I think if it were me, I'd go see my own GP and say we'd been trying for a year.
Thankfully my GP was very understanding and supportive, but generally GPs don't know very much detail about the various problems we go to them with. My GP requested the SA from my hubby's GP, so that put paid to his doc saying no. The thing about fertililty monitors is that most GPs probably haven't heard of them. Better still, my consultant at the fertility clinic told me not to use mine anymore and just to BD every other day. Like I listen to that ...
Good luck. Hope you get sorted soon.
xx
