Can you believe it my BOSS has refused that i go for a Laparoscopy and ovarian drilling on the 21st of May

He said he doesn't see the need for me to go for a surgery that in his eyes falls in with plastic surgery as just because i DON'T OVULATE or have a REGULAR AF he doesn't think it is worth it giving me off for a week.

So behind his back i have moved my opp to the 28th of MAY and i will return back to work on the 4th of JUNE, as i will have a 5cm cut by my belly button and a 7cm cut by my bottom of my belly and im getting CLIPS not stiches. Doc has booked me off as i need to have 10holes burnt into each ovary and he said i will be in alot of pain and need the rest.

THIS IS MY LAST TREATMENT AS WE HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING NOW.

What am i going to do as he mentioned he will fire me if i go?????????

Call in sick with flu and go! You deserve to have this op. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to fire you for illness, particually if you have a Dr's note.

What a *******!! I don't know much about SA laws but surely there is someone you can report him to?? I thought my boss was bad when he told me "it was a really bad time for me to have surgery". I nearly made him cry I went off on one so badly.
Definitely find out your rights, I cannot believe he compared it to plastic surgery.

seriously though i would go to the citizens advice hun, they will tell you of your rights, or if you have a barclays bank account they have 24hr lawyers that you can ring for advice.

I think hes just trying to scare you to not take time off, what do you do?

Even is this op was like plastic surgery, some plastic surgery is needed, I had my boobs reduced, plastic surgery yes but I had it done as they were so big they were putting too much pressure on my lungs and deforming my shoulders from my bra. I didnt lose my job or get threatened.
