I would definitely contact Labor Relations/CAB to discuss this with them. It is NOT plastic surgery and he has no right to make that determination anyway. That is for a doctor to determine.

The other thing I would consider is that how will he react when you do get pregnant? This may be why he doesnt want you to ahve the OP.

You need to be aware of your rights and then speak to him again!!

Does your boss have kids and married? If so, ask him how he would feel if his wife were going through the same as you are. Ask him if he'd be as rude and unsupportive of his wife as he is to you.

How long have you had this job? A boss as jerky as that may not be a kid friendly employer. I have half a mind to hop on a flight to South Africa and kick him in the jimmy!

Not sure what the rules and regs are in S.A. but surely it isn't legal to threaten someone with the sack for taking time off for an operation?
Your boss is obviously a bit mad! Don't get down, just ignore him i say, go for the op (as that's got to be more important than any job) and deal with your boss afterwards!!
That wonderful husband of yours will sort him out anyway, i'm sure!

That is awful. There is no way he can get away with that. Phone in sick then when you get back and get any hassle show him the dr's note and let him try and fire you. Remember employment laws! Though its terrible that we have to even be discussing this. Be thinking about you xxx

Seriously from what we've discussed in the past, he does seem to be a complete A hole. I'd definitely call in sick that week, and if you get any hassle, produce a Drs cert. I'm sure your Dr will be sympathetic if you ask for one that doesn't state you had an op on it. And if this doesn't work, give him a kick in the goolies so hard, he'll have to have an op!

Take care sweetie
