Fertility Monitors

Following on from another thread i started in product advice.
Does anyone use/has used a fertility monitor other than the CB one?
I know i shouldn't be tight when it comes to something so important to me, but DH would freak and i feel its a lot of money.

The boots one is much, much cheaper (i'm wondering if there is a reason behind this....hence the thread). Also some other brands available from boots, that are cheaper as well.

Also has anyone purchased such a thing from ebay or somewhere? I'm dubious of this too.........Just a little confused and AF may appear in a few days, though i hope she doesn't, so would like to get one ASAP so that i can start with it next cycle.

I purchased brand new one from ebay for about £55 including P&P.

The Boots one...is it not a fancy digital BBT rather than a fertility monitor like CBFM?

To be honest i'm not 100% sure of the difference, though i'm pretty sure it doesn't involve POAS. It records up to 4 months data for you, is sold as a fertility monitor, whilst they also sell BBT thermometers, anyone that could shed further light would be a gem!!!

I got a 'First Response' one off ebay for less than £10 inc p&p, haven't used it yet as you have to start on the first day of your cycle. Have read the instructions and think it just does the same as FF when you enter your temps on there (except it beeps when you need to take your temp in the morning!). It builds up a database so it knows your cycle and can let you know when you're in your fertile period and when you're not.

I think it will be good as you can use it to prevent conception too and after my first baby I don't want to go on the pill or anything that could mess me up for TTC the next time (planning ahead quite a bit there ).

x

eta. it has a thermometer thing attached so you take your temp with it and it stores the data, don't think I made that clear.
