Well, they have confirmed I have PCOS. I kind of suspected it for a while so it's not a huge shock but still really upsetting. The guy doing the scan said that they usually look for 12+ cysts for a diagnosis and I had more like 30+. And both my ovaries are enlarged. Explains why i haven't had AF since coming off the BCP in January.
Feel so depressed now and worried I'm never going to be able to have children. I've come off BCP before and never missed a cycle so don't understand why it's happening now.
Please tell me that there's still hope and that people with PCOS do conceive!

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, at least you know why AF wasn't coming and hopefully you can start work on treatment. I've heard some people have success with acupuncture for regulating periods xxx

Of course people with PCOS conceive! People with PCOS get cured, people with PCOS get pregnant and people with PCOS make beautiful babies just like anyone else. It just takes a tad more work.
I don't think I wrote this on BnB before but I used to have PCOS. In fact, a few years back it had gotten so bad on one cycle that they wanted to perform surgery and remove one of the ovaries and it was only thanks to my then gyn insisting I was too young and will want children that it hasn't happened. It was treated for a while and after some time I've given up the meds too as it didn't matter at the time but a couple of years after I was pregnant and today, a few years after that too my gyn says she doesn't know what I mean with the PCOS history as my ovaries are perfectly normal.
So get a good cry if it helps, spend a few days on Google, ask for as much support as you need and then get to work!

There is hope -my friend has PCOS and edometriosis (sorry for spelling) and she only found out after trying for 2 years. They put her on Clomid and eventually got the levels right and she had a gorgeous girl who is now 2. When she went for no.2 the clomid didn't work straight off so she had a laparoscopy where they blasted the cysts from her tubes and it gave her 5-6 clear months before reforming - she fell pregnant again after that and is due in a few weeks.
There is definitely hope, it just sucks a bit. What did the doc say was the next step?

aww...babe. My mom had ovarian cysts. She now has 2 daughters. When she went in to have her appendix(sp?) removed, they told her that she was preggo for my sister. So they thought my sis was their miracle baby. Then 4 years later.....mom got kidney stones......they went in for surgery and found me.
How long were you on BCP?
