my cycles as you know have been a bit irratic, but today my friend mentioned that my nails look odd and to ask the docs to get tested for anemia.

I know it sounds a bit silly but i did have anemia in my later stages of pregnancy with Lilly and never got my blood count taken again which i really should have done and I have been feeling really tired but I just put that down to looking after a baby and working and doing the housework.

My question is could being anemic effect my cycles?

It would make sense if it did as your body wouldn't want to get rid of iron through AF if was deficient?

I was always told that if you pull your lower eyelid down and it's really pale there that can be an indication of anemia.

Might be worth getting checked out anyway if you're having similar symptoms to last time. You can buy iron tablets in shops now though (noticed some in asda the other week).

Isn't it calcium deficiency that effects your nails?

Yeah, I've heard that topping up on iron can be good for ttc so may be worth it. I think one of the signs is if you're more tired than normal.

I thought the same as Elm though, that it was calcium rather than iron that affected nails.

dunno, my friend likes to think he is House MD I am definitely going to get the nurse to note down to check my blood count though seeing as they are taking the blood anyway.
