Unhappy

need some advice please

Hello ladies, just need some advice. Sorry if his sounds like a rant but it's really getting to me at the minute.

I came off the pill last August to give my body time to get into a cycle before ttc. I went 5 months without AF and she showed up in January. I thought it was great that she had finally arrived, even if I was a bit irregular (cycles being between 31 and 40 days) My last cycle started on 14th March and I used OPK and o'd on day 17. I've done a few hpt (last one was a week ago), all negative and still no AF.

Im so confused! I waited 5 months for AF only for her to show up and be all over the place. Im now on about day 52 of this cycle!!

Is it normal to be this irregular 9 months after coming off the pill? Anybody experienced this?

It sounds unusual to me I have to say, because I was advised it would take my body about 3 months to get back to normal after coming off the pill and I had been on it for a very long time. My body really did adjust in about that predicted time and I only had one cycle that had a delayed ovulation in it due to stress of moving house.

I think in all honesty it would be worth your while speaking to your own GP as we are all so different. At least your doctor will be able to ask you to right questions in relation to your historical cycles and come up with a possible cause and solution for your particular cycle patterns.

I do wish you good luck and ttc is hard enough with a regular cycle, never mind the uncertainty you are currently going through.

Hi there, and welcome to B&B

Sadly a lot of us have had really irregular cycles after coming off BCP, it can take up to 12 months for the body to sort itself out.
I found that good pre-conception vits helped, Vit B12 and brewers yeast (it was the latter that really helped my cycles become regular .. or that's what I think!!).
Other people have tried Evening Primrose Oil with success and I have heard Agnus Castus being talked about, but haven't tried it myself.

Good luck, our time will come

I actually went to my G.P a few months ago because my cycles were irregular. She did a hormone assessment and my results came back normal. Not sure whether I should go back yet or not because they might tell me to wait a year!

Hi there, I was on the pill for 8 years no break before coming off it 2 years ago. I was told that it can take up to 12 months for the body to re-adjust, I think it took me around 6 months to get regular.

Just read the above posts and I'm wondering if age or time on the pill is a possible factor here? I was on BCP for 13 years (19-32) , AF got herself sorted out about 6 weeks after coming off.

hope you get sorted out soon

Hi lovely,

My last period was on 13th March so in near you in my cycle. AF still hasn't showed up for me either, it's so frustrating.

I came off the pill in November, and i've only had one natural period since then. I think it really varies for everybody hun, keep positive xx

Hi, I came off the pill last July and mine haven't settled yet. I am not sure if that is because of the pill or not. I have spoken to some people who's cycles have regulated within 8 weeks and yet mine has been 10 bloody months!!! I have tried EPO and agnus castus. The EPO seems good for CM but have had no success in regulating my cycles. They can be anything from 5 to 8 weeks!
