I'm Currently Feeling: | Aw honey, don't stress too much, the reason it "adjusts" to your cycle is if you O later or earlier, it will begin asking sticks earlier or later in the cycle. But it will still only give a Peak if it detects it. So don't stress, it won't tell you that you've O'd if you haven't | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I am inclined to agree w/Nellis, actually come to think of it... i have longer cycles 31 days ca. So id say IF it starts to ask for sticks on cd 6 again next month, id say your in the clear- i.e. it gets all the info it needs from you earlier on than for me. xxx | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Lu - it's only my first month using the CBFM but I understood that you would only need 10 sticks unless you have a longer cycle and haven't reached peak in the first 10 sticks. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks guys, feeling much better about it now. That'll teach me to buy something without instructions just because it's cheaper!
Have horrible twingy pains in my lower back and automaticaly thinking ooh could this be a pg symptom even though it's way way too early! What does this ttc do to us, every little thing has to be scrutinised instead of just accepting that sometimes we just injure ourselves!!
Thanks for all your posts guys, you've really put my mind at rest | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Lu28
I think most of the replies you've got cover what I was going to say. I've been using my CBFM for 6 months or so now, and every month (except the ones where I was taking clomid), it detected my highs and my peaks, within 10 sticks. I think it depends on your cycle length for the number of POAS it requests. Also I agree with neyney. I doubt very much it would measure a peak if you hadn't ovulated, even if you hadn't reset the monitor.
Try not to worry too much and hope you get your BFP soon. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yep, you have got some good answers above and I can promise you that your monitor will not give you a PEAK reading unless it detects the correct level of hCG hormone in your urine. This will have nothing to do with the last user ... honestly!
The monitor will ask for 10 sticks and if it detects your PEAK within these 10 sticks, it will ask for no more. If it does not detect a PEAK during the first 10 sticks then it will keep asking for more ... up to a maximum of 20. It is possible to have 19 sticks read HIGH and it will automatically show a LOW reading on the last stick.
You can be absolutely 100% certain that your monitor has detected your PEAK and that is fantastic because it means you have most likely ovulated on the second PEAK reading day.
Also, it's worth noting that when your monitor detects your first PEAK day, it will automatically show a reading of PEAK on the next day followed by a HIGH the day after and a LOW the day after that. ALWAYS!
So, what I do for example today I got my first PEAK ... tomorrow I will re-use an old test stick and will still get a PEAK reading, and continue until the end of my 10 sticks and for sure the pattern will read PEAK, PEAK, HIGH, LOW. The monitor is programmed this way. I got this trick from reading about other people's experiences with their monitors and tips on how to save test sticks because they are so expensive. It's important to remember that once your get your first PEAK reading, the monitor has told you everything you need to know for that cycle. I have even tested this theory/practice by re-using a test stick that gave me a LOW reading first time around and it gave me a PEAK reading on the second time using it with that day's urine. Of course the only time I would re-use a stick is after getting a PEAK reading as leading up to it is the all important time to measure the hormone levels in your urine.
Have a look at my FF charts and you will see my own experiences of using the CBFM. | |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks for that Tishimouse, that's really helpful. I read on the clearblue website that you should only use the tests from the one box at the same time because they're all very sensitive and slightly different. But that's probably just a ploy to make sure we buy more sticks from them! | | | | Status: Online
