When exactly is ovulation?

I'm using my cbfm for the first time this month and am trying to figure out when exactly I will have ovulated. I'm guessing that once my peak goes back to a high then 1dpo will be the day of the high? Just want to get my first dpo right so my 2ww obsession can begin properly!!!

Well when the CBFM detects a LH surge you are about to O...you have 24-48 hours until an egg is release, but of course this is just an estimate. That is why it is always good to BD before and after a peak reading. LOTS of for you!!!!

It's definitely our month! It's so hard to pinpoint ovulation exactly though without temping and I just don't have it in me to wake up early at the weekend to take my temp!!!! I'm dedicated but I have my limits!!

Hi Lu!

Ovulation is roughly half way through your cycle. More specifically, it is 14 days before your period. So, if you periods are regular, it can be quite easy to predict, but if they are irregular it becomes more difficult. You also get signs, like increased and egg white CM around the time of ovulation.

Ovulation sticks are really good - they show a peak in something called the Lutenizing Hormone, which peaks about 12 hours before you ovulate (obviously just how close to ovulation you are will depend on when you test). Some women think that BDing on the day of ovulation is the best time but some studies have shown that it is good to BD a day or two before ovulation to let sperm have enough time to get up the tubes!

Clearblue Digital Ovulation sticks are expensive but really, really good and clear - a happy face for an LH surge and a circle for no surge. No squinting at lines necessary.

Good luck! I hope you get your BFP really soon!

xxx

Thanks poppy! Got the first cbfm peak yesterday so we duly bded last night. We did miss 2 days of bding before the peak though but had been bding every other day for the week before so hope our 2 day break didn't mess things up! cbfm still reading peak today so I'll try and nab dh tonight to seal the deal!

I'm using the CBFM for the 1st time this cycle and i know what you mean about is peak OV and the day after 1DPO - If i get my peak followed by a high then i will call the high day 1DPO like you said. If I get another peak I will wait until it reads High next time to say 1DPO. Unless some expert tells me otherwise!

Glad someone is using the same logic as me, we must be right!
