im in agony and feeling very sorry for myself. im due to ovulate tomorrow and had sex 2 days ago. ive woken up with shingles and i took my gp until now to phone me...incase im pregnant i cant take the medication which helps with the pain and time you have shingles, i had it earlier this year and vomitted evry half hour and ended up woth an inflammed stomach so they gave me anti-naseau drugs...but of course i cant have them incase im pregant! the pain is awful and i can hardly breathe and the only thing im allowed is paracetamol which is like smarties to me. Now im worried if im pregant it will end up in misacarriage or the baby will be deformed because this can happen if you have shingles whilst your pregnant. However as this is my 9th month i doubt i am so i feel like im suffering for nothing! Plus i has an appointment at a specialist for my immune problems tomorrow which i have been waiting 5 moths for and was meant to be seeing if this could be why im not getting pregnant but ive now had to cancel it due to the shingles


Sorry feeling really pissed off and sorry for myself obviously this month is over for ttc and it had only begun!

Oh no - you poor thing! I hope you feel better soon. Try to stop fretting and think positive and get yourself better - you will do yourself or the potential baby no favours stressing (i know it's hard).
Did you ask about when you could get an appointment when your better? Chase it up in a day or two.

hope your feeling better soon, my mum had shingles and was in agony.

went to the doctor today and she said we could still try this month but i forgot to tell her that oh hasnt had chickenpox before so i just looked it up and you can catch it from 'secretions' so we wont be able too Is very unlikely i am pregnant as we had sex 4 days ago and im ovulating today...how annoying! ill just have to wait until next month...its not worth oh risking getting chickenpox!
