I haven't been charting BBT or anything, but I have been checking out my CM. This morning my CM was a little stretchy (about 2 inches or so). However, I was wondering; could this just be leftover cum from last night? How can you tell the difference?

impossible to tell!! i always have the same problem, and try to use other methods to go along! sorry hun.

Hahaha, thanks! Glad I'm not the only one. Maybe next cycle I'll start doing BBT too so I can tell better

Ok, totally laughed out loud!!!

I read somewhere recently that if you put it in water, CM will curl up in a ball and float and the other stuff will sink....or vice-versa - can't really remember. But as obsessive as I am, the whole idea of putting the stuff in a jar of water seemed just a wee bit over the top!!!

Oh my god, DH would think I'd gone completely insane if I started doing that! I've always been confused about this too

Yeah, you are supposed to watch what happens when you have a wee - Apparently eggwhite cervical fluid will often hit the water and form into a ball while it sinks to the bottom.

It is really difficult to tell the difference though, as they look and feel very similar, but spem will dry up very quickly upon your fingertips and is more rubbery in consistency. It can be foamy. Sperm is also a little more white in colour rather than clear like eggwhite fluid.

they say it is hard to tell but cm is more stretchy and 'left overs from OH' are less likely to stretch and will break more easily. But yeah, it is really hard to tell the difference.
