First Reflexology Appointment - owwwww!!!

Just had my first reflexology appointment and oh my god did that hurt!! I just kept thinking that its good for me so it'll be worth it...

She pinpointed the fact that I hold most of my tension and stress in my shoulders and upper back, she asked if I had digestive or IBS problems which I do when I'm stressed.

She said that there as a very slight blockage near the bit for my right ovary but nothing to worry about and it's quite common during particular parts of the cycle so certainly nothing to stress about.

So I guess it's a case of watch this space and see if anything comes of it. I hope so because at some points I was barely able to take the pain - god knows what I'd be like during labour, I'm such a wuss!!!

I don't know!!!! It was almost as though the "crunchiness" she could feel was being pushed along the length of my leg and foot. I think it was meant to be pushing it out or something, have no idea really but I was doing the whole, no pain no gain thing in my head!!!

Put it this way, it certainly wasn't pressing gently on pressure points!

She did say to me in the beginning not to worry if I fell asleep - I was lying there wondering how anyone could sleep while they were having what felt like a hot poker being dragged up their leg!!

i think it depends what you are there for - if you want relaxing it can be very relaxing, if its specifically to target areas which need 'fixing' then it hurts a bit. I liken it to a back massage - it can be incredibly relaxing or you can be pummelled!!

I had a consultation last week and it was sore in places - she went round me entire body (in my foot!) to see where I had imbalances and it hurt in places but very short sharp pains - I'm sorry yours seems to have a bit more prolonged. As far as I understand it gets easier with each session - I have my second one tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes!

Lu28 and others. . .
Are your reflexology sessions geared to people who are trying to conceive?
If so, what type of things did they do that are meant to help you conceive?
