CBFM advice?

Hi girls!

I'm still in the WTT forum, but I am thinking that I am going to buy a CBFM when we start to TTC. In reading the instructions, it says to wait for at least 2 normal cycles before starting to use the monitor. I will be coming off my BCPs in late June and was thinking that I'd just start using it when I get my first natural period (hopefully it won't be too long after I stop BCPs). Do you guys think I'll be ok doing that, or should I really wait two cycles? Any experiences with this or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone TTC!

don't know how many cycles hun as i used mine for the first month last month which was cycle 7 for me. I imagine it tells you to wait 2 cycles so your hormones are a bit more regular? not sure though

Thank you Loopylew! I think you're right - they just want to make sure the hormones are a little more balanced. Maybe I should just suck it up and wait.. It's so hard though!

Oh honey I know it will be hard, in fact I'd be buggered if I could wait. I'm shocking like that. I guess if you have the money for sticks you could try, and see what happens. You can always reset them if your cycles go all messed up.

Good luck

Hiya,

i was in a different but similar situation. I shall explain shall i, lol!

I was using it for 4-5 months, then got pg, then mc. It says not to use it for 2 months/cycles after mc which i immediatelly ignored. Why? Because i figured once i had my period it can still read my ferility symptoms and it has been spot on, in fact.

So, the moral of the story is; if you have no period, or its all strange and messed up, maybe wait til you're more regular, but if your close to normal, i'd say go for it.

It take a few cycles to learn how to read you anyway. I love my cbfm!!

Good luck, babe xxxxx

I would maybe wait for your cycles to get regular as they might not be after stopping the pill. Mine are irregular and I used the CBFM for only 3 cycles...then stopped. You can always use opks in the mean time. It also says in the instructions that the CBFM is not recommended if you have really short or really long cycles. Lots of luck for when you ttc soon!!!!

Thanks so much for all your replies girls, I really appreciate your input. I don't know if this matters, but if I remember correctly before BCPs, my cycles were pretty normal at 28 or so days each month. I'm hoping they will return to that once I'm off the BCPs. The sticks are pretty expensive, so maybe I should just be patient and follow the directions.
