well quite amazed with Drs really thought id be in for a struggle but cos i went in with my charts and my cbfm readings she seemed to listen more. Dr wants DH to do a sperm test to rule out thats he's functioning ok, which i think he is as he has a daughter already then she said that she will refer me to a fertility specialist. She said going from my charts and cbfm theres no need to do cd21 tests as we know im ovulating just not at the right time. Ive already had the other tests done in Jan to rule out thyroid etc. DH is gonna go to Drs on Fri hopefully.
She dismissed the short luteal phase bit sort of but acknowledged that i ovulate "late" in my cycle and ideally there needs to be 7-14days after ovulation for an egg to implant. Im lucky if i get to 6 days.
Im glad i went and feel quite positive that things are hopefully moving forward. She said keep charting using cbfm so when i do get my appt ill have more evidence to show them.

I also have a cbfm which said i ovulated at the same time as well last month so im not having any of her telling me that "charting is not accurate", might chuck my monitor at her if she says that!!
I just feel that she will say we have to wait for 12 months now, which is only 4 months away anyway but i really hope she doesn't
not that i'm advocating fibbing on any level but if you have been trying for 8 months and you have charted the last 3 - why don't you tell your DR it's been almost 12 months - that way you don't have to worry she'll be sending you back in 4 months time?? i know that's dreadfully dishonest of me but needs must!!!

thats good loopylew im glad she took you seriously and is referring you and testing oh. Its good to feel like you are moving forward!Think im going to ask about getting oh tested too. I read in a book men should have their sperm tested after 6 months of ttc. Is it a gynaecologist your being sent to or someone who is more specialised?

im not sure cos she wants DH tests results first then she said she's "refer me" i think a specilaist but not absolutely sure. I would go ask about DH or he could go to his GP and then you could just go in with the results. My DH is registered at a different practice and will need info in writing from his GP to mine which i can see being a pain or costing money!!

My DH is also at different GP. I read in a fertility book thing that they will often let the guys doing their tests 'under their own steam' at home and then they can post off for the results???

Glad things are moving for you poppet.

I think you'll need to be on their case if you are at different Dr's - just make sure you keep bugging them.

If he talks to them about giving the sample they might say do it a home as long as they have it within an hour - I think thats what the did with Hays hubby when he went to his GP.
