TTC for 5-6 months, let down..

My husband and I have been ttc for about 5-6 months. I am so tired about getting excited and worked up, just to be let down when I get a BFN. I'm anxious about it, and no matter what i can't stop thinking about it. I stay on the computer four hours reading symptoms, and success stories. I try to stay positive about a small symptom, and look it up but it relates to menstrual cycle OR pregnancy. I'm so scared. I just want my BFP.. I am around 7-8dpo, and I have slight abdominal cramps. I've had them for a few days. My boobs are sore, on the top towards my armpits, and my nipples are sensitive with a different sensation. That's about it. I'm due for my period on the 22nd this month. I ovulated around March 11th. Today, 3/18/2010 I noticed some cloudy ish stretchy cervix mucus, and what seemed like some white lotion-y discharge mixed in with it. Please help me out, and give me your opinions, advice, and/or stories.. Thanks so much.

Hey there! I too have been ttc for going on 7 cycles now...I know how frustrating it is, I think I go through about 30 tests a cycle (i know crazy but can't help it!) I don't want to think about all the money spent on hpts and opks uggg!! And analizing every twinge every ache it is enough to drive you crazy....and that let down once AF shows...well I'm crossing fingers for us both this cycle! I'm about 5 or 6 dpo right now! Nips sore, bbs a big heavy feeling kinda crampy...who knows!!! Here is my chart -- (I think ff has my O date off by one day)

Normal healthy couples in their 20's can take up to 12 months to conceive, its just a numbers game in the end. I know its frustrating, just need to keep the PMA up, it will happen sooner or later! If I start to get a bit down I take a wander over to LTTC, some of those ladies have been trying for up to 6 years, I dare not complain about my short journey after reading how brave they are! Hopefully it wont take too much longer for you hun!

hey, i know exactly how you feel although i have just gone through my 5th cycle i am exactly the same as you thinking every little thing is a symptom that im pregnant and overanalyzing and thinking im late but im really not..
unfortunatly after a few rounds of thinking i was preg when i had actually bigger boobs, sensative nipples and even heartburn that i normally dont have i have found that it was actually happening when i was ovulating so its a tricky situation..the big thing to remember is the symptoms dont usually apear until a few months into your pregnancy so you cant get too worked up over these little feelings or it will drive you crazy!!
i spent the first 4months TTC very worked up and increasingly upset when i wasnt preg but i have now found other things i can focus on and a positive outlook that the more time before i get pregnant the more chance i have to save some money while im still working so that is a step towards our own home and nicer things for the bub when he/she comes along..you need to find something else to stop it from consuming your whole life or it wont happen cos of the stress your putting on your body..
goodluck and keep us posted!!

I understand how frustrating it is. My OH and I have been trying for about 6-7 months now although we stopped trying for a month as the dissapointment was just getting to hard.

However finding this forum has realy helped, I don't feel so alone now and I can share my feelings with som many other women who are in the same boat. As WannaB says, these things can take time, and I too have been touched by some of those brave people in the LTTC and TTC after loss forums.

Better do some work now, the Boss will find out!!

I'm new to this...

Hi everyone.. I'm new to this forum so I apologise now if I don't use the correct abbreviations! We have also being trying for 6 months. I still don't seem to have a regular cycle, but I was on the pill for 8 years so I'm putting it down to that! This month however, I did get pink spotting 11 days after ovulation and last night (day 33) I got 1 lot of (what I can only describe as) stretchy egg White.. I was literaly stood drying my hair and I felt it all fall out (sorry!) thinking it was my period but it was this.. I have done 2 tests, one on day 28 and the other yesterday morning on day 33, both negative. My family are telling me to relax as it will happen when my bodys ready but it's soooo not that easy!! Any advice will be gratefully recieved!!

Lots of factors, no answer to why and why not.
Couples under 35 years should see a doctor if they don't conceive within one year of trying (hard).... lots of factors- overweight/underweight; no ovulation; smoking & drinking; age; low progesterone or imbalanced hormones, low sperm count etc etc. Only a doctor can tell you why. I did a blood test right after stopping the Pill, DH did a Sperm count and mobility test same time. I've been on the Pill for 10 years. Doctor told me if I wanted to try, start RIGHTAWAY after the last pill because the first 2 months after the Pill are the most fertile cycles once you know exactly when you ovulate. And do it BEFORE Ovulation, not after or ON the day of it.
I am testing next weekend, hoping for a miracle!

I'm also at 6 months though we didn't time it right one or two of those cycles. It is frustrating isn't it. It seems that doing all the right things doesn't always work out the way we hoped.

I am not sure how much longer I will wait before seeing someone about it because I also have diabetes and other issues that can affect fertility - funny thing is that with my first child I fell pregnant very easily and with no planning or trying at all - second time round seems a lot harder, but maybe we are stressing too much - that can definitely affect fertility.

Come on Ladies!! Positive Mental Attitude!!

Stress/anxiety are what can contribute to having no AF and a BFN

Before you start thinking oh thats easy for you to say.... I do know exactly how you feel!! We had been TTC 8 months this time 2 years ago and I was at my wits end with it all!! Infact I wrote a similer post when we had been TTC 9months because we found out our best friends were expecting when it was there 1st month trying and I was frustrated!!

I guess I am more chilled out this time around because I know it took us a year with Sophie, I have it in my head that it will take a year again so I am not going to panic about it.

The funniest thing is that when I fell pregnant with Sophie we were decorating our living room and only BD'd once maybe twice in that month. So I am convinced that stressing about TTC was contributing towards having BFN.

I am keeping an eye on my cycles this time just to see when I would be due on etc

I wish you all the luck in the world on your journey towards your BFP xxxx
