Male fertility home-test

Hi girlies,
I bought one off ebay - the kit is 'babystart Fertilcount' and involves 2 tests. I won't go into details about the test, you can click on the link and have a little read if you like..

http://www.selftester.co.uk/index.ph...products_id=95

Anyway - has anyone used this? We tested last night, and hubby's first test was negative we have to wait 3 days before using the 2nd test, but regardless of whether the 2nd is negative or positive, the instructions say we should book a docs appointment...

Please, anyone that has used this let me know what your experience with it was... my head is all over the place, we've got ourselves convinced that we used the test wrong or it was a dud, but truthfully we did everything right..

thanks girlies x

i havent used this test but used one called fertell. I would do the 2nd test and if thats negative i would defo go to drs for a full semen ananalys. Im sure that if sperm count is less than 20million u can still get pg! But u need to get it testd for count, motility and morphology. There is lots that can be done to improve sperm though so try not to worry too much! how long have u been ttc babe? X

I bought OH Fertilty score test, hes only done 1 test which was positive, we will do the other one before my fertile period. Do the next one in a few days time, see what that says. How long did he abstain from intercourse before he did the test?

thanks so much xx
well, since posting i've done quite a bit of research so i'm kind of understanding all this mobility and morphology talk now, he he. We've only been trying since June... the last couple of cycles I forced myself to stop thinking about it, see if it would happen, but it hasn't yet, and somehow I've gone and got the TTC crazy bug back again!

Well we're going to wait till sunday, do the 2nd test and go from there.. even if there arn't as many little swimmers down there i'm sure some is better than none
xx

Hiya, my oh used the babystart fertilcount test we got it from ebay too just before christmas.

His came back negative and we spent weeks worrying, i was in a mess over it. Anyway he got a sperm analysis test done at the docs a month later and his sperm count came back as 64 million per ml and the babystart test said it was under 20 million. I think they're a waste of time, he too did everything right.

There are reviews about them on amazon saying the exact same. Plus they dont tell you about motility etc either. OH was all fine thankfully.

xx

My husband did FertilityScore from http://www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk. It says it measures both sperm count and mobility.

We initially did yours but it didn't work. FertilityScore seemed more 'technical', I felt like a lab technician doing it.

me an my OH did the fertility scores test the other day and came back negative but we hadnt waited 3 days without sex before doin it onli a few hours, so will be doin the next test on sat/sun waiting the full 3 days and will hopefully be positive.

but we have read alot that they are a waste of space and not accurate so we will just have to wait and see what happens on the next test.

hmm, I was thinking of getting something like this because DH doesn't seem to like the idea of getting tested at the doctor. But if they aren't accurate... maybe a potentially false negative would get him to go! ah, how manipulative of me...
