Can your OH handle you being pregnant?

Hey ladies, I've been thinking about this lately! Am I the ONLY one who thinks that their OH might not be able to handle them becoming pregnant? 1st some backround info!!! My DF and I have been 2gether since Dec. of 2006. We've been TTC since last October. NOW I knew ahead of time that I'd probably have probs TTC, since I never got preg. w/ my ex hubby. Anyway, My DF and I are waiting for our . With me being a dwarf, (Im only 3'8") a pregnancy would take its toll, and I'd be required to go on BedRest early, possibly. SO that would leave my DF to do stuff around the house. Lately I havent been feeling well, sleeping ALL day, not really wanting to leave the bed. He's already complaining. I don't know what to think.... When I get preg., it's obviously only going to get worse. Bedrest will be due to the fact of my extreme Short Stature, along w/ my fear of falling while walking. What should I say to him? This is really starting to upset me.......Im confused, and I got really angry and told him, if he kept it up, then I wouldnt want a baby with him...... UGH frustration!!!! He doesn't like doing housework, and its hard for me to do it all on my own..... ideas please!! THANKS!!!

Did DF already know the potential issues that could happen in your pregnancy due to your stature. If so, then DF needs to stuff it. Seriously, I think you just need to talk to him and explain that there could be complications and that in the best interest of both you and the baby's health you shouldn't be doing too much work. Also, let him know that this is not something that is unique to you due to your stature (don't want him feeling resentful). Many women have to go on bedrest due to various medical reasons (high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, etc).

If you do end up on bedrest, maybe a close relative could help ya'll around the house. Otherwise, you can hire some help for the housework.

My husband thinks I'm going to be a drama queen when (see I'm thinking positive by saying "when" instead of "if"), but he's probably right!

girly, You know who I am.. LOL... When you get prego he will have a lot to handle. But, He needs to clean and start helping cause if you are stressing it makes it harder to get prego. Sit w/ him and tell him that he needs to help w/ stuff and if not then no baby til you start helping me and stop being such a baby!! You will be on bed rest and you wont be able to do anything besides go to the bathroom.. but before you get to that point they will tell you, you have to get up and walk for 30 min or more. Been there done that!! Hope it works out for you!!

On a slightly different note, I have had health issues this past year which have caused me to be VERY weak and tired. My DH was just like yours--complaining about having to carry laundry up the stairs, doing dishes, etc. But when he realized that I COULDN'T do those things anymore, he changed and it got easier. He did help out a lot more than I would've expected him to. So, when push comes to shove, he may surprise you.
Oh yeah, feeling much better now.
