Thanks for that Margerele! But according to FF BBT is a primary indicator and CP is a secondary indicator. I think that means that BBT changes are predictable in all women, whereas CP is not always the same for all women, or something like that! You sound like you know a lot about it all anyhow! I check my CM at the same time like you say - seems silly not to! xxx

Nice info Margerle. However I find the open/closed part very confusing because I've had 2 children and it always feels open. Sometimes I only chart the position and firmness because I don't think the open/closed part is reliable for me.

Yah, I should have probably not worded it quite the way I did, magicvw... I just meant that the other two options gave women a chance to see their fertile window AS IT WAS HAPPENING. I have found that with BBT, unless the human aspect (temping and charting and interpreting) was absolutley perfect, the window might be missed.

Yah, the cervix changes quite a bit after we have kids, for one thing the os (the opening of the cervix) flattens and is no longer a round dimple but a flat squashed like dimple. This might be TMI, but after my first, I actually had to check during my period to feel what 'open' for me felt like. I figured that was a for sure time of 'openness' and once I got accustomed to that feeling, I could better figure out 'open' for later in my cycle.

And like you, I still have days when I check CP where I'm like WHAT is going on???? so that's especially when I use CM to double check.

Hehe yeah I gotcha .. I'm gonna work up the courage to check it during AF.

I admit it, when I read that some weeks ago I checked e-bay for a speculum Then thought "OMG no way am I gonna do that every day!! What if my OH sees me? Or better yet, what if he opens the package with the speculum!!" So I figured this was all just WAY too much for me I feel crazy enough just checking it normally.
