Natalie - with me I checked first off just after AF finished. I just stuck a finger up and had a prod about to see what it felt like up there and i felt something a bit firm, but soft-ish - kind of as soft as a peeled boiled egg. The texture was something kind of bobbled though. (I'm racking my brains here for something that it felt like - FF suggests "the tip of your nose" but mine didn't really feel like that!) It was just at the tip of my middle finger and seemed to stop me being able to push my finger in any further. When I got my pos OPK I had another feel up there, and I could push my finger all the way up and there was no obstruction - I think this is what they call "high" ie difficult to reach. Today (2 days later) I can just about feel something again, but just on one side. From what I've read, they suggest just checking every few days at first, so's you can perceive a difference. If you do it every day you won't notice the changes so much. xxx

This is one - it has pictures, which you might not want to look at but I've got to admit I did not know loads of this stuff such as the fact that it sort of hangs in your vagina and moves lower, higher etc!

I check a few times a month such around OV to see if it is high and soft.

I've have a wee prod once I start AF again...although I think I could feel something today adn it was a bit squidgey!

Remember to check at a similar time each day, it can change a bit.

This is probably way TMI, but I know mine is high when I can't reach it or just barely with my fingertips, I chart it medium when I can easily check if it's open and it goes as far as 1 cm down my finger (sorry can't describe it any better) and it's low when it's easy to reach and feels like 3-4 cm down my finger.

But that's just my guess, I'm sure it feels different for everyone. But it may help you to figure it out.
