tbh, when I saw my last scan, the sonographer showed us the spine and said "lovely healthy looking spine" my heart swelled. Just knowing something so small that I did to make that spine was the best feeling ever.

I was reading somewhere that high levels of folic acid in RATS caused cancer. I am sure it was on this forum somewhere. They recommend taking before TTC and during the first trimester when it is needed then not taking it after that. No one knows if it causes cancer in humans but I don't think we ever need to take that much, it all for the baby. This guy is just taking the rat thing and twisting it around to make a buck.

Well its right that it will increase your chances of getting cancer, but its not right how its written! Its only going to increase your chances if genetically you are going to get it anyway. For the people who have things like breast cancer that run in the family then increased intake of folic acid could feed it, but its over a long period of time and taking it until baby is nice and well formed isnt going to be that long is it! Folic acid feeds cancer and causes it to grow, thats why things like green tea are good cancer fighters because they bind to the folic acid and render it useless. Same reason when you have an ectopic pregnancy and they medically manage it you should not ttc for three months after, they use drugs that are used to fight cancer and therefore your folic acid gets depleted. Ive had cancer and I will continue to take my folic acid, my docs arent worried about that at all and neither am I, more worried about getting my healthy baby!

Better than having a baby with spinal bifida.

I've taken nutrition for a while and I've never heard of this before. Sounds like crap to me.
