Sorry if I was a bit unclear I've only been trying for a couple months, I'm gonna see how it goes and what happens in the next few months, how my periods go etc. and will probably go back before a year to be honest because I'm too impatient lol .
I'm on cd38, my last period was 4th feb! but I'm not pregnant. I've been using ovulation tests and haven't had a proper positive as of yet so I don't think I've even ovulated yet, but the lines have been getting darker so hoping it's on it's way
I hope you manage to get something sorted on monday, a scan or a blood test or something because your symptoms all sound so good! I have read on here that some people never get a positive hpt (even though they are pregnant) or that some people take a couple weeks. Your doctor does sound particularly horrible! saying things like it's impossible isn't exactly going to get you in the right frame of mind for ttc, she's also wrong because I bet we all know people who have had children in their 40s. Also you said you're very fit and healthy so that's excellent My doctor often seems like he can't wait to get me out of the office too! Could you ask to see someone else?

Wishing you lots of luck really hope you get your bfp soon

Not sure how to take your posting but here goes LOL !!!!
NO IM NOT GOING THROUGH THE MENOPAUSE thank for asking!, i had all those tests before we even tried to conceive, i am producing like a 20 year old on the inside according to the fertility specialist but my doctor ignores what they have said and just read me THE book for over 30's . I was an athelete until my early 30's and still eat and treat my body the same i am extremely fit and they were suprised when they asked me my age.
And yes there is a good chance that i can get pregnant, but to be honest with you i am pregnant but apparantly am one of those women that dont have high hcg levels and it wont show up for a few more weeks yet at the moment i am approaching 5 weeks, but am keeping it quiet until i can get a :BFP:, i was like this with my daughters ( 18 and 16), from a previous marriage so keep it the secret please !!!!!
Tina
Oh my, I didn't mean any disrespect. After posting it, I was thinking "I hope that didn't come across wrong". Thanks for not taking the post in a negative connotation.

The reason I asked about the blood test, was because those are more sensitive than urine tests, and I figured that that should be the first thing your dr should have done. So if the dr didn't do that, then I would have been highly concerned about him/her looking after your best interest. I would at least think that your dr would be be doing frequent tests just to see if your levels are rising and monitoring the rate.

I asked about menopause, because if you happened to have gone through early menopause, then I can see why your dr would not think you are pregnant. I would have asked about menopause for anyone since by your post, your dr seems so sure that you are not preggo. Now, if you have not gone through menopause, then your dr should definitely be taking your pregnancy symptoms seriously.. Because, if you haven't gone through menopause there is always a chance of pregnancy.. (sort of like if a pre-teen girl has not gotten her menstrual cycle, then there is no chance of pregnancy..but once she gets her menstrual cycle, there's always a chance she can get preggo if she has sex)
Hun dont worry about it , i did think cheeky cow but then laughed
My doctor didnt even suggest doing a blood test coz she couldnt wait to get me out of her office i was wasting her time is the impression i got so i wont be going back for care from her i will go to see the old guy doc instead after we have gone to the fertility hospital and see if we can get checked over in there on monday, but No definately no sign of menopause, my pregnancy symptoms are just too full on for that LOL. The midwife did say why do you want a +hpt after all your mother and grandmother never had them! and you know shes right so bugger it ! Im pregnant and thats the end of it !.
I wish you all the best Hun

Tina

So this is common in your family (the non +hpt)? At what point, do you think the hcg levels may rise to the point of being detectable?

Go on with your pregnant self. Just continue to do what you are doing. I agree, I would not go back to that dr. The least she could have done was give a blood test, or suggest that they monitor you over the next 3-4 weeks. I'm wishing you a safe and stress-less pregnancy.

I'm just going insane with the 2ww. I am 5dpo, and 9 days till AF is expected (not) to come.

The none showing hcg levels in a test isnt in the family its to do with my age apparantly so anyway its a common thing that isnt really mentioned anywhere i certainly wasnt aware of it until today so i am not worried.

I wish you all the best in your journey to your own family

inkdchick, it makes me so mad that your doctor is treating you like that. I am so sorry you are having to deal with it. I think it would be great to go into her office with a positive and slap it on her desk. what a cow! I wish luck and baby dust!

Yeah Im finding it interesting too! I would love to know why age would be a factor in the production of hcg, you would think if its there a quantitve blood test will pick it up, they can pick up 1's and 2's, and you have to have some amount in your blood if your pregnant full stop! Im nearly 42 and they pick mine up all the time, and my FS has never said anything like that to me, thats puzzling! I have to admit I didnt get +hpts when I was pregnant with my first two, but way back when the tests wernt as sensitive as the ones they have out today, and I was testing pretty much the minute I thought I was pregnant! Fingers crossed it all turns out fabby for you hun!xx

Yep my doctors are useless!!
I haven't had a normal period since November. I went to the doc in January because I was getting migraines, nausea, no periods, frequent urination and very tired. He dismissed it all and sent me on my way with some migraine pills. 4 days later I ended up in a and e due to the headache. There I mentioned my symptoms so the nurse did a pg test...showed positive for 2 mins then went neg...no further testing done when they found a severe uti. A week later...back in a and e for more pain in abdomen and lower back...test negative. So they check my blood...for everything other than pregnancy! So I asked to be referred to a gum doctor, who tested me for all sti's (under my request) and a smear. Everything clear. Stomach starts swelling, symptoms increase, periods still weird or absent. So I go back...finally they decide to send me for a scan with the doctor saying 'I can't rule out pregnancy at this stage'. My student midwife friend feels that I am indeed pg...possibly 4 months gone.

Nice one docs!!

Sorry to rant on your thread...I hope the ignorance of some of these people pass and you get scanned too. You sound just like me!! x

Thanks Hun but dont know if i will be going now as i went to bed with this really weird aching sensation low down right across lover abdomen, and when i woke this morning and went to the loo i had a very pale blood coloured streek and went a few minutes ago and its now pale brown and on the pad im wearing , oh and i have a colostrum like discharge coming out of my nipples i noticed it when i woke up this morning so i must have squashed them but i am worried as i dont know if this is normal, might have to start a thread with this actually.
Hope you are ok and thanks and dont worry about the rant thats what i started this thread up to do just that.
Tina
