what do you use for cramps?

I have been cramping a little today, not sure if it's pre AF or maybe pg (please please please), but my normal AF cramps are pretty brutal so I want to be prepared in case they get bad. What do you ladies take during the 2ww when you're not sure if you're pregnant or not. I usually pop a couple of ibuprofen, but don't want to do that if there is any possibilty that I may be pg. A hot water bottle usually helps, but I've heard that heat can be bad (I read you shouldn't take hot baths). Is it safe to use a hot water bottle in early pregnancy?

Thanks for your help

You can take paracetamol and try a warm hot-water bottle. Gentle exercise, such as a walk is supposed to help.

I used to get terrible period pains and I couldn't get out of bed. I took paracetemol (not ibuprofen), a hot water bottle and a banana to eat (I hate bananas but they have magnesium or iron or something in lol) and put the hot water bottle under my back. Helped my cramps a bit =]

Thanks for all your replies. I'll try paracetemol if it gets bad (and bananas... I love bananas). I usually have my hot water bottle so hot that it leaves a red mark, so maybe that's not such a good idea

I use Naprogesic for cramps, but only if AF has arrived, if not I try to go al-la-natural and just use a hot bath or hot water bottle over my tummy. Good luck

I take paracetemol if they are really bad and use one of those beanie wheat-filled bags that you warm up in the microwave. You heat it for 2 minutes and it is just the right temperature to place on your tummy. The bag is a great shape too, cause it molds over where ever you place it and is not too hot that it could damage or frighten a little bean (if there was one inside). Awe, maybe that's why it's called a beanie bag. Get it?

Hi Mugzy, my name is Sam and Im new to this forum. Im going thru exactly the same as u! Ive been experiencing AF symptoms today and im in my 2ww. Some paracetamol r ok to use but check with the pharmacist first. I suffered terrible cramps during the early stages of my 1st preg & had to take paracetamol regularly but only after checking with the dr. Good luck!

I take Feminax which is co-codimal. I love the stuff. Then I get my hot water bottle out.
