I've been reading about The Shettles Method on Fertility Friend.

We're not planning on following it, I don't care what gender our baby is! However there was a few parts that got me thinking..

This is where the rambling starts lol

To conceive a boy it's recommended to keep intercourse close to your ovulation date, following a few days of abstainence. It's also recommended the doggy style position to ensure deep penetration and female orgasm to ensure a more friendlier alkaline environment for the male sperm.

To conveive a girl it recommends intercourse 2 to 3 days prior to ovulation. The position recommended this time is missionary position to give shallow penetration, without an orgasm as female sperm prefer a more acidic environment.

So, my head being what it is (a little loopy and works overtime) is intrigued. If you have sex in the missionary position and DO orgasm then surely you're creating a bad environment for the female sperm. If you have sex doggy style and DO NOT orgasm then surely you're creating a bad environment for the male sperm!

We have sex during our fertile period in the missionary position only and i ALWAYS orgasm!

Obviously this is all my head working overtime, but it got me thinking that if you don't care the gender of your baby then to increase the chances of either being conceived we should all be alternating between missionary without orgasm and doggy style with orgasm all the way through our fertile period!!

I have texted my OH to tell him he's taking me from behind tonight lol

I think we can "doggy stlye" it as well with no complaints from my dh as well...he is so tired of missionary as I tell him we have to make sure they stay up thereand of course I am all up for the orgasm as well!! (hahaha) but...I am up for anything that will lead to a BFP!! and would love to have another boy...so

I doubt any of these things make it bad for the sperm, just tips to increase chances of gender selection.

Ie chances for sperm with missionary/orgasm are 'normal' but without orgasm are normal for girl sperm and slightly increased for boy sperm.

If you don't care what you have, I agree, alternate!:

3 days before OV - missionary, orgasm.
2 days before OV - doggy, no orgasm
1 day before OV - missionary, no orgasm
Ov day - doggy, orgasm

Send your OH the schedule!!

I should print it out and put it next to his side of the bed so he can keep track lol

He must think i'm nuts, every month I have a new suggestion for us to try and each month he goes along with it all willingly
