I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks girls, I know you're all right - I am just soooooooo impatient now! Reading back over it, I know I'm blindly clinging on to the phrase 'it wouldn't be the end of the world...' but I fully acknowledge that the doctor wasn't actively reccommending I start trying now
Oh well, perhaps I'll look a little slimmer in my bikini then..... | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hey, i was just wondering if the dr had put you on bcp as it had any medical benefit to your condition or if purely for contraceptive purposes? (E.G. I know it's not the same thing but my friend was put on bcp as it helped with her endometriosis and so was more likely to conceive after being on it for 6 months or so). |

Hi Coffee, Doctor put me on BCP because we suspected it was my Mirena coil causing the repeated bouts of BV. Unfortunately it wasn't.
Thanks everyone for all your advice. As it happens, when I woke up this morning, I got the first symptoms that it's back again now anyway. I am seriously not impressed - those bloody antibiotics made me really sick, and they didn't shift it completely anyway!! ARGH!!
Am going to bite the bullet and see my GP next week. Hopefully I'll get a straightforward referal to a Gynaecologist. Am trying to keep positive, but am feeling pretty miserable again now; this is month number 3 TTC, and I am *STILL ON THE PILL!!* | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | hiya dont know a lot about bv except that it can be cleared with antibiotics is your partner perhaps carrying the same bacteria and passing it back to you it happens with thrush so just a thought and if you are ttc the pill would have to go as the hormones in it are gonna stop you getting pregnant would do as most have advised come off the pill and use condoms and maybe have a word with doc about getting your partner tested to see if he carries any bacteria that could trigger bv in you and get some antibiotics for him to sort it out if he does hope you manage to sort it out x |

| Gotta listen to the dr, hon. It sounds like he is very worried about you getting PG with BV - from what I know of it (a friend has BV), it can be harmful in the first weeks of pregnancy so best to get it cleared up before coming off the pill. And coming off the pill makes the chances of you 'accidentally' falling PG rather high, even if you don't intend to ...
By the way, many fertility experts say that the first few weeks after coming off the pill are your most fertile, your hormones gfo cer-azzzy and make you very fertile (honest, look it up). Many fertility experts actually put gals on the pill for a month or 2 to get the old hormones raving! So if u stay on the pill till u intend to start trying, you might increase your chances anyway! x |

TBH, coming off the pill a month or two before we 'officially' start TTC isn't really an option, as neither my OH nor I are big condom fans. In fact, I bloody hate them with a passion!!
Cheers for all your advice everyone! Much appreciated xx | | | | Status: Offline

I have to agree with everyone else. come off the pill now, and use other means of contraception until you're ready to start TTC. its so confusing knowing what to do for the best!xx | | | | Status: Offline
