Whats the earliest you can test ?

I was just wondering what the earliest DPO you can test ?
Ive seen a few posts where people seem to get there BFP as early as 8/9/10 DPO.
Im just confused as to when i can start testing.

Personally I wait until AF is late, because theres a chance if you test early, that it could be chemical or you could miscarry very early on, thats why I don't test until shes late, because i'd be heartbroken if I got a BFP & went on to get my period. Good luck
