| 1st appointment wiv dr after TTC for 6 months But I told him we'd been trying for 12 months, evil naughty me!
Anyway, thought u TTCers would find this useful. I took in a calander of past 4 months to show when I got AF etc. He told me my cycles look healthy and it looks like I'm ovulating (he explained that if I missed periods and had irregular periods, it could be cos I'm not Oin. But cos my AF has lately arrived every 28 days or so, he doesn't see a problem).
I told him I think I have a short luteal stage (time betw Oing and getting AF) and therefore, doesn't leave much time for implantation. He looked totally confuddled! Said he doesn't see why that should be a problem. Christ, hasn't he got google?! A
Anyway, he's gonna do blood tests to check pregestorne (can't spell it!) levels. On Monday (a week into AF) and then on day 21 of my cycle. Plus my hubby's gonna get tested. It's so cool - he'll receive a pack in the post and he can do it from home!!!!
So, well, there we go. We'll see how we get on. Him saying my periods being so regular and such is a good sign has made me feel a bit better but then, why the hell aren't we PG yet? I really hope it isn't hubby. He's be gutted. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Girls,
Go get your thyroids checked. Make SURE that you know that you are normal and healthy in that respect. It's one simple blood test, and it can make all the difference in the world. There's no reason to TTC for one whole year before checking it. That's what happened to me….After 5 months of TTC and not being successful, I got mine checked and it was DANGEROUSLY high. I've been on medication for one month now, and my TSH levels (thyroid stimulating hormone) have improved a great deal (still in the ridiculously high and dangerous range, but still a thousand times better than before!). I'm praying every day that once this gets resolved, I'll get my BFP. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I should add, the reason that it's important to get your thyroid checked, is because a low thyroid will make you stop ovulating. |

Thanks for the info - having being on the pill they know I haven't been TTC for 12 months or I'd try out your idea!!! Sounds like everything is really positive! Hope your blood tests go well & you get a this month anyway xxx |

Better to find out if there are issues sooner rather than later eh? if i wait too long my eggs will be fossilised rather than fertilised!
I'm also on a 28 day cycle and i use the CB Ovulation kits so know i ovulate around 14.... i'm just too impatient to wait |

Lee, estrogen dominance inhibits thyroid activity, stress, toxins, nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalance, depletion of follicles and contraceptive pills are the major causes of thyroid dysfunction. Progesterone is the hormone that helps the thyroid have a normal activity."
BCPssssss (and may be this is another reason why my doc prescribed me progesterone....)
This is getting bad - the more time I spend on BnB the more of a hypochondriac I'm getting! It hasn't been this bad since my SIL gave me a medical dictionary one Xmas and me and the whole family suddenly got diagnosed (by me) as having several life threatening disorders.... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | You are so clever!! My hubby and i went to the Drs when I first came off the pill to ask for advice (what vitamins etc to take). So now it's all my records that i stopped taking the pill in October- can't fib that I've been ttc for longer. My periods have been irregular since after my visit from AF at the end of Jan. The Drs say its far too early for them to 'check me out' and that I 'am still very young to have trouble conceiving' (I'm 24). | | | | Status: Offline
