Hi ladies. i was wondering what's like to have a hsg??? I'm scheduled to have one on may 8th and I'm very frightened. I heard it's like having mild cramps. I already have severe cramps during my cycles, as in I'm bent over sometimes. So I guess it wouldn't be that bad. But please could someone give me some insight on this procedure, from like the beginning to the end. Thanks!!!!

HSG is a test where they shoot dye into your tubes to see if they are blocked. I have heard that it can be uncomfortable, but not real painful. I was supposed to have one, but then I got pregnant. (I mc'd but they said because I got pg, they weren't blocked) I hope that helps some. Good luck

I had a HSG last year. You lay down with your legs slightly raised (not the most ladylike position ), and they insert a dye into your tubes. I found it quite uncomfortable, but it was over very quickly. I went back to work afterwards because I felt fine, but about an hour later, I got severe cramps and had to go home and go to bed. I was fine the next day.

I have heard that some women have had hardly any discomfort when having it, so don't worry.

well if it's just the cramps i got to worry about then i think i will be fine. lets keep our fingers crossed that everything is open and it's just not my time to get pregnant.
