Hi, my experience is also similar to yours. I started my periods at 13 went on the pill at 15 for ten years then came off it last June so that my periods would become regular before starting to try for a baby. We havent been really trying for a baby but not preventing it, so this will be our first month of properly trying. I have also been to the doctors and have hormone tests done and they have come back fine.
The problem is I am so impatient and want everything yesterday, I have told people that I am ttc and wished that I never had as everyone at work keeps asking me. I've come to the conclusion now that it will happen when it happens. My periods are every 49-56 days and I'm also using OPK's.
Lots of baby dust to you all

xx

Wow, loving all the responses already! Bizarre mix of feelings I have... frustrated with what's going on, but excited/relieved to know it's really NOT JUST ME. I hate to take comfort in all of your frustrations but it really is helpful to have even just a few with similar circumstances!

Few things to add... as I mentioned before, I do have acupunture done, and as of 2-3 months ago she has been customizing a blend of chinese herbs, which I take twice per day. I would love to share what's in them, but I haven't a clue!

Here's a few other pieces of advice she's offered me...

1. She's a full believer in full-fat dairy and believes it's crucial to a healthy reproductive system. (If nothing else, it's a great excuse to HAVE to eat real butter, and full fat-sour cream and ice cream )

2. She says it's important to make sure your feet are kept warm

3. She also says it's important to not consume too many cold foods and beverages on a daily basis.

4. She believes taking extra Vitamin D is also a big deal. I currently take a supplement that has 2000 units (whatever the measurement is) per capsule.

She also just recently suggested I try something she believes highly in called "X Factor Butter Oil". It's a supplemental type deal that she believes is extremely supportive and beneficial for providing essential nourishment to the reproductive system. It's bought online and I just ordered my first yesterday, so I will gladly share any experience I find myself having with that.

I can say that I believe the acupuncture and herbs are working to an extent as I have had cyclical spotting that seems to occur for several days every month... It's definitely not something I would call a period, but it's more than I had prior to the acupuncture and herbs.

I have yet to have any scans done but my doctor says it's highly unlikely that I have anything like PCOS because I don't "fit the mold" for someone with PCOS. I would love to hear what comes of your experiences with your scans, though, and anything else that seems to come along.

Thanks again for all the response! I look forward to being part of this...

Wow, finally a thread I can relate to! I began when I was 13 and went on the pill at 15 to regulate periods and for acne prevention. When DH and I decided it was time to try, I went off the Birth Control Patch in September. the first 3 periods were fairly normal with 29-32 day cycles but since then it's been haywire. my last cycle was over 50 days and this one is 46 days and counting with no BFP and no sign of AF...I swear I should have shares in First Response because I use so many each month thinking I am "late"...I have no idea what the problem is and I just want normal cycles to make it "easier" to predict! It's frusturating enough as it is without irregular cycles to top it off...At least now we have some support with each other. keep me posted on how you all make out and what you find out...if anythin!

Hi girls,

Just logged on and so happy to find other people with the same problems im having whew!

My story is similar right up to the last 15months since we started properly triying for No1. Im at the stage now ive been diagnosed with PCOS through blood tests although like some of you i dont fit the typical symptoms jus irregular and missing periods only had 5 i think last year?

Anyway been to acupunture last oct for a few months and it did get me to OV but that was in DEC and none again since. So after being referred to a specialist who wasnt going to help me for another 6 months I went back to my doctor who said that if i wasnt OV then there was no point waiting another 6 mths.

So now waiting on blood tests again and hubbys SA results and doctor is putting me on Clomid? Hopefully this will get things started again?

I know some of you girls must feel the same, like helpless cant really TTC when theres no each month? Not really telling any one we're TTC cause dont want the constant questions all the time when i already feeling down each month cause im not working proplerly

Tyring to stay postive thaat this clomid will help situation, at least get me OV!!would love some TTC buddies to join up with who knows what this PCOS and TTC is like?

Lots and lots of luck to all you TTC out there! Wishing for for us all!!

Hi there

So good to know I'm not the only one.
I'm 36, 5'4 and around 9 and half stones with generally good health.
When I came off the bcp I was over a year before getting a period. I now get approx 3 very heavy, painful periods a year.
After over 2 years TTC I fell pregnant in November 2007, even though I hadn't had a period for 6 months. We now have a beautiful 18 months old wee girl.

Hope this offers some encouragement. Good luck to all you lovely ladies.
