ooooh goodness? Im exactly like you- 28 day cycle, light to really heavy to light, worst period pains ever (ive vomited due to pain) I clot throughout period and I wear tampons. I'm very interested to see if this is true?

Hi - Im currently going to acupuncture to help with my pre AF spotting which I get for 4/5 days before the witch finally arrives. Im also reading a book about fertility and it did say that if you have heavy periods with clots then you should def not use tampons - its better to let them flow out. Im not sure if it goes back in but it could be blocking the cervix so I'd stay away from the tampons. I also have clotty periods but they have gotten alot better with the acupuncture.

I have really heavy periods/a lot of clotting, and have never used anything but tampons. And yet, I have 2 healthy kids and I've also been prego 2 other times (m/c), so I will continue to use tampons since pads make me feel so gross.

I get this. I have to use tampons & pads together as I get very heavy & don't trust just using pads or just using tampons. I have a mooncup, but am still getting used to using it.

My periods are so heavy that I have to use tampons and pads as well. I also get clots, so what I do is wear tampons for my two heaviest days and then go only to pads as my flow gets lighter, which (TMI) then allows any left over clots to flow out. I wish I didn't have to use pads at all, but its the nature of the beast

It's a rubber cup which you reuse. It catches all the blood & then you wash it out & start again.

Cups are good because they catch everything and since it keeps the blood away from oxygen, there is no yucky period smell!! (ICK!!)
