Newbie.....any tips??

Hello, I'm a newbie

I came off B/C last June after nearly 15yrs and still i'm yet to get a

I'm nearly 32 so im worried my long term pill use and age are all against me

My periods are irregular between 27-34 days, and after charting last month i've realised i ovulate pretty late so have a short luteal phase! Its not looking good ha ha! Trying b100 complex to try extend LP this month so fingers crossed.

Anyone any pearls of wisdom, or helpful hints? I've just invested in a Clearblue Fertility Monitor too for next month so hopefully it'll help me understand my cycle better

Hi Linny and welcome, it sounds like you're doing everything right to me... mostly trying to understand your cycle and your irregular cycle might still just be after effects of BC that will even themselves out. The clearblue fertility monitor i'm sure will help you find out what's going on with your cycle but most importantly of all work out your ovulation date every month. I think there's a thread here somewhere about the monitor so might be useful to have a look over it. Good luck, i'm sure you'll find loads of support and advice here xxx

Hi Linny....

First of all welcome

Like the previous person said its probably just BCP that are making you irregular at the minute, given time they'll probably settle down.

As for your age I really wouldn't worry, I was 32 when I had my last baby, i'll be 39 in June and hoping for just one more I had 21 day bloods and got the results last week and everything is fine, we have been trying for just over 7mths now and nothing as yet, guess i've just got to be patient!!!!

Anyway hopefully you won't have to wait long for your BFP.

Tina

That is quite some time to be on Bc but you never know!! Have you talked to your doc? I was on the Depo for almost 3 years and I know that even a short amount of time on the Depo can cause a long delay in being able to get pregnant! What ever you do do not try Evening Primrose Oil I hear it is known to shorten a LP! Take folic acid or even a prenatal or children chewy vitamin that has 400 mg of folic acid in it! Other than that I don't know much about the pill! good luck

to you!
