I'm Currently Feeling: | I chart my CM, 'symptoms', bleeding etc on FF but don't OPK or temp.
I think if I started temping I would be come unhinged .. I have slight OCD tendencies!! Same for OPK's .... I'd be POAS every couple of hours! |

| Hi hon, I would recommend doing something - start with OV sticks, you can buy them from Boots for £20 or online much cheaper (am currently investigating where to buy them online at the mo so will let you know what I find out). The reason I say this is that I always thought I O'd around CD13-16 cos of pains but it turns out I O on CD 17-18. So I think it's real important that you use OV sticks cos you might be Oing later or earlier than you think and missing the egg. Tho if you BD from when you finish AF to end of your cycle every other day, you can't go wrong. I think OV sticks are best to start of with b4 basal temping. Bit of a pain but you must be disciplined, as I was (as u know from my blog!). x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would suggest getting a cbfm if you worry about getting obsessive. Its so easy to use and tells you exactly what is going on so there's no squinting to interpret lines on opk's or worrying about missing a window as you can do with them (i.e. ending up poas much more than you have to with a cbfm).
I credit it getting me pg, but i do know some people find it doesnt work for them. I think if you're like me, always spot on with af and have spot on ov signs and have relatively normal lenght cycles, its a good investment.
Good luck with whatever you chose is right for you, bunny! xxx
ps, i started with temping and found it a pain in the a***, lol.. too distruptive and i just didnt like it. But thats just me, lol! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've just started charting (5 days ago) with FF ( www.fertilityfriend.com) and I have to say it's an eye opener. I haven't discovered anything about my own body yet as I have had no positive OPK and my BBT hasn't changed (well, it went down but that doesn't count!). But with FF they send you daily lessons on how to observe your body and get to know what's going on - I wish I had learnt all this stuff earlier. There is so much info it's easy to get bogged down, but on the other hand, a lot of it is repeated several times so it is starting to sink in. I would have a go, just to see whether you get on with it or not. It doesn't cost anything with FF (unless you want the VIP service) and I think you can learn a lot about your body.
Let us know what you decide!!! xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | BTW - I am using a normal digital thermometre - not an expensive BBT one. Basically because they don't sell them in Bulgaria where I live. I went on a Bulgarian TTC forum to see if I could find out where to buy one, and all the ladies there were discussing how to get by without them. It's a shame. But on the other hand they have had good results with normal celcius thermometres with one decimal place.
I think sometimes you feel you need to buy something because it's there, rather than because it's essential.
I'll let you know how I get on with the normal thermometre - if I don't get any rise in temperature this cycle I will be blaming my below-par equipment!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks girlies! It's always good to hear some different opinions!
I am thinking that i will give it one more cycle au-naturel (!) and then i think i shall start peeing on sticks, whether my DH thinks its weird or not!!
I am sure he will give me grief for it (he finds all this TTC chatter a bit strange!) but i shall just have to point out that when we do the sexathons, its actually HIM that can't keep up the pace and so i am peeing on sticks, purely for his benefit !!!!
To be honest though i doubt he will know what i am up to anyway - i am sure he will just think i am doing pregnancy tests or something!! I have tried to explain ovulation to him a couple of times now but he just screws his face up and looks at me disgusted!!! Definitely not good for the sexathons!!!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've been charting my temps since October because my cycle went crazy after a miscarriage and I wanted to know what was going on. It's really been a great help to me, and I find it makes me less obsessive. We have been "avoiding" pregnancy rather than preventing it by being aware of my cycle, so there has always been the risk of pregnancy each month. But when I see my temp go down, then I know AF will show up in a day or two. There's no obsessing about am I, aren't I. It didn't take long to get used to taking my temps. My alarm goes off at 6:30 every morning and I take my temp on auto pilot, usually keep sleeping while I take it. Occasionally I forget to remove the thermometer and wake up an hour later with it still in my mouth - no problem you just mark the time difference on the chart. I think it's a great tool. | | | | Status: Offline
