When are you considered to have started TTC?

Just wondering at what point you're really considered to have started TTC? I have always said I started in October when I came off BCP but it's only in the last month or so that I started using OPKs and really figuring out when I ov.

Probably just trying to make myself feel better here in thinking we've only really been TTC for 2 months and not 6 . What about you guys?

This is an interesting question because i only count it from when i got the cbfm as before then it was like shooting in the dark, to be honest, lol!

In addition, we've also had some months bd didnt go according to plan so i dont count them in either... only those months where bd when ov'd.

Some people might call that cheating, lol, but i think of it as, if we havent actually tried that month there's no ttc going on...On the upside it makes me getting pg when i did quite positive as wasnt trying for ages. So in that sense im like you!!!

Fingers crossed for that bfp, eh

Well I stopeed bcp in Sept 06 but we weren't really trying...but around the beginning of 07 we just did it and if it happened, it happened...well after nothing happened...we officially started around Sept 07. I consider this official since I was watching my body and consciously being aware of when to BD and all that...

We are on month 8 ttc.

I consider myself to be trying, and I stopped my BCP a few weeks ago.

I don't use OPKs, though I am taking prenatals, EPO (though not at the moment, as I believe I've ovulated) and doing my best to BD around O.

I reckon I'll be purchasing OPKs for next month though.

As for OH. He's of more of a 'if it happens, it happens.' mindset. I wouldn't say he's as actively 'trying' as me (well, based on what everyone else has considered to be trying, anyway).

I stopped the pill in Dec (I think ... may have been late Nov .. I am so ditzy!) but really have been TTC since about Jan, when I came of the pill I had a 60 day cycle (thought it was my ) and my periods have only just started to even out, although it wasn't till Feb that I actually started looking in to TTC, fertility etc.
March was a bit of a bad month as OH was away over O

So I guess it's only since Feb that I've gone a little loopy!

Feels like ages tho

Ooh, well then maybe I'll count us as having started TTC since March which is when I joined B&B and started going slightly insane! The first couple of months it was a case of if something happens, it happens. After that I figured as long as we bd at some point at about 14 days then it'd be fine. At that stage my BF asked if I was really sure of my dates so I looked at the length of my cycles since coming off BCP and even though I was under the impression I'd kept up my regular 28 days, I was anything but! Anything from 22 to 30 days....

So before March I was really shooting in the dark so to speak - so I guess have only been TTC for 2 months - I know that's probably cheating but makes me feel more positive!!

And it'd probably work if sometimes my cycle wasn't 22 days long!

May be we need a new abbreviation - (who makes these up anyway?!!!) How about NNTTC = not not trying to conceive, ie shooting in the dark. Actually, perhaps SHIT'D would be more appropriate given the first letters of the words....
