Tilted cervix

So just as a general question, does anyone have a tilted cervix or know anything about them? When ttc ds I was told that I have one, but was never really told anything else about it.

Does is affect ttc in anyway? Took us 2 years ttc ds so wondering whether that could have affected it and whether it could this time around?

Jolyn,
I was told I also have a tilted cervix...but that was it.....no details on TTC, carrying fullterm ect.
I am planning a trip to dr's before TTC and will ask then for sure.
Only problem I have had ...was during pap tests the chair was tilted and I was almost upside down before dr could " get at my cervix".
I did read somewhere that certain positions while TTc may work better for tilted C.
Doggie style was on of them......I'll be sure to ask my new Dr about it.. hahahahaha

Hi

I too have a tilted cervix. Mine was spotted at my first smear, and the GP then told me it might affect conception.

I spoke to my new consultant about it on Thursday, and he was quite dismissive of it, and basically said a lot of women have them, everyone's make up is slightly different, and it won't affect conception.

I think the physical barrier caused by a slightly skew whiff cervix is nothing compared with the psychological one caused by knowing about it, so I'd try not to worry too much about it.

Hope you get your BFP very soon.

Hi, I too have one. On of my Drs. told me that positions that allow entry from the back are better for conception but all the others I've spoken to have dismissed it as affecting conception.

Jolyn, just googled it and the first thing I got was this:
" Whether and how your womb (or cervix) is tilted is not important. What is important is that the uterus is mobile (it moves when pressure is exerted upon it). If a woman has pelvic pain, backache and pain when having intercourse, and is also found to have a womb which is retroverted and 'fixed', i.e. not mobile when examined, then this may be due to pelvic inflammatory disease, and would need investigation by a gynaecologist. "

So to me they are saying tilited womb is not a prob , only could be a prob if you have that aswell as all the other symptoms listed and even then they are not saying its a prob , just worth getting investigated.

Also read this:
"Remember that a tipped uterus in no way can hamper with your fertility or your chances of getting pregnant. Some women are born with their uterus tilted forward or backward. Often with a pregnancy and delivery of a baby, the uterus goes back to the normal position.A tipped uterus can occasionally lead to difficulties in getting pregnant. Since a tipped uterus makes sexual intercourse very painful and difficult, it can come in the way of getting pregnant but does not affect your fertility."
There think that makes it clear chick, should not be a prob at all.
Keeping my fingers and everything else crossed for you to get a BFP!!
Hope you had nice weekend x

Hiya!

I have a retroverted uterus and whilst it means that sex in some positions is painful for me, I'm now TTC number 2 so it doesn't mean it should affect fertility...except in the sense that you don't want to DTD...lol
