Question

Day 42, still no AF

Argh I'm going mad!!!

A blood test on CD23 was 'not consistent with ovulation' but now I'm starting to think it was taken too early in my long cycles to say for sure. Am I right in thinking I could have ovulated after this?

A test 2 days ago was

Also I have a crazy cold / chest infection. Just in case I am with child (ever the optimist!) does anyone know what drugs are safe to take? Cough medicine or flu tablets??

Cheers girls

xx

I am unsure about the meds to take for a cold...might want to call your doc and ask what you could take to be safe. Maybe Tylenol??? I have had long crappy cycles too and they suck so bad!!! I am currently getting tested to see if I am Oing. I think I might have O'd fine this cycle, but am getting my blood taken for my progesterone in 4 days. This would make me at CD 21 and I think I O'd around CD 14-15 (which really never happens, I don't think). I would ask your doctor to take your blood again...they should be suspicious if your cycle is being so long. Not to say that you will, but if AF comes, maybe start the whole process over again just to know what is going on with your body and cycles....best of luck to you! Sorry if I wasn't very helpful.

I had a stinking cold in my 2ww and took lemsip. the warning I saw online was a slim chance of it increasing blood pressure but as I usually have low blood pressure i took it anyway. Maybe ring NHS direct if you're in the UK?

Thank you both! I am waiting more blood tests and a scan, but this cycle is long even for me (usually around 36 days). Maybe its the illness making it longer.

I hate long cycles!!!

Aww sweetie,

Long cycles suck, as do colds (I'm also nursing one at the mo)
I think low dose Paracetamol is OK (best mates dad is a Dr and she took it while pregnant) but perhaps check with NHS Direct?

Yes I argree- BOO! to long cycles.
I'm currently on day 47! Have had AF pains and symtoms for nearly 2 weeks, but she's yet to make her appearance. I thought April might be my month, but still

Not sure what to take for your cold, but NHS direct is good advice.

Thank you all. NHS direct was great advice - the website says avoid all over the counter remedies and stick to paracetamol if needed. So that is my plan!!

Doubtful there is a bean in there, but better to be safe than sorry! Almost wish AF would show so I can take the real drugs - never thought I'd say that haha!!

to all, especially thinking of you long cycle gals!!!!
