ive read that a tilted uterus is ok and sumtimes can just make the baby harder to see in a scan due to the angel.Hope that helps.

P.S I only know this as when i was told i had a blighed ovum people on sites told me to wait before getting a d & C as the baby may be hiding and hard to see.

I think 20% of people have a tilted uterus but most dont know

just found this

Porkpie thanks for the info. and Carolina nice to meet u. I've been ttc for 5 months and I feel unencouraged by the PCOS information I've rec'd so far and sometimes I wonder how much information the Drs really have on the effects of a tipped uterus on fertility.

ANYA, I have a retroverted uterus - found out after having a laparoscopy for very painful periods and some other pains I was experiencing at the time.

This is my 9th cycle TTC my 1st child and my 5th cycle using the clear blue fertility monitor; I've decided to visit my GP if not pregnant at the end of cycle 10.

I've known about my retroverted uterus for about 5 years - just wondering if you have noticed or experienced the following? -

1) last smear test was really uncomfortable as the nurse found it very difficult to locate my cervix and when I told her I have a retroverted uterus she said my cervix was far back and difficult to get to!

Following might be TMI!!!

2) sometimes I find using tampons really uncomfortable and wonder if this is due to retroverted uterus

3) also a couple of sex positions can be really painful and also wonder is this is due to retroverted uterus

Anyway would be great to here any of your stories re this as although they say 20% of women have this I do not know anyone who does

I have a retroverted uterus and have been TTC#1 for about over 3 years. I found out from a ultrasound test they were doing to see my walls to make sure I didn't have any polyps or anything irregular like that. It was very uncomfortable and they used a balloon that kept slipping out and hurting when they filled it with air. I don't know if it was from the retroverted uterus but I almost cried from the pain. I have always had very bad irregular af's but I haven't seen one like that in a while a retroverted uterus is not supposed to get in the way of conceiving but honestly I think it depends on how bad the tilt is.(tmi) I learned that the best position for a woman with a retroverted uterus to conceive is doggy style I do think that this does make sense. I hope that your journey doesn't get to long Good Luck!!!

Hi Guys, Ms Monty, I have some of the same problems and yes I believe that the tilted uterous cuases it. I don't wear tampons cause it is simple too uncomfortable and there are sexual positions that I find really painful.
