D-demers, you have us to lean on! We will be your shoulder. I have a tendancy to look on the bright side of things, and while it sucks sucks sucks that you didn't get your BFP, perhaps he is meant to be home to take care of you while you are preggers. It would certainly be easier to go through mood swings and birth with the hubby around. I hope you have a great month with your man and that his deployment flies by.

Thanks Bella, and you're right, there is always a chance. I've decided to pull out all the stops and do the softcups and any sort of extra fertility aids I find before ovulation day. We've also decided to make sex a priority at least every other day and not just rely of OPK's for when to do it because that isn't working obviously.

Oh and to answer your other question, he will be gone for a year. Have any of you looked into sperm banking an continuing to TTC while they are deployed (through intrauterine insemination)?

I've heard of women doing that before their hubby's deployed. Mostly for safety reasons incase the unthinkable happens.. But I'm not sure. I think it's very expensive. You may want to call a tricare rep. and ask if the military covers it (or some of it!). We're using softcups as well.. I like them so far! Like you said all is not lost yet, and I agree with Hilary as well.. if it doesn't happen. Try to stay positive We'll be here for you to vent to. But I think it sounds like you've got a great plan! Every other day is ideal, and doing it every day around O time

Keep the faith! I'll say a prayer for you.

Every cycle has a 20 -25% chance! So you may not need it! But I have heard of the sperm banking. And I have known a few people that did it. It's a bit expensive. About $300-$500 to freeze and store and then they charge you for the thaw and the IUI.

Also, I HIGHLY recomend Pre~Seed. It is amazing stuff! I really think that was the key to my June pregnancy.

Hi Girls!
My husband is in the Navy and we are currently overseas in Japan. We got married December 20th of 2009 and we moved to Japan on December 27th of 2009. We are trying to conceive baby number 1, but he is getting ready to go out to sea at the end of this moth He will be gone for 7 months. I was just hoping to make some friends that are in similiar situations.

How long TTC? starting on month 3

Stationed at?? We are at Fort Bragg in NC. In June we are leaving for Mannheim, Germany. I really feel like once we are settled there, is when we will conceive.

Anything else you want to add? Hubby just left yesterday for 25 days. He is attending BNONC in Maryland. So we are OUT for March!! Also, this a second marriage for us both. This will be our first baby together (I have 3, he has none). And I just want to say that I am soooooo proud of my soldier. He is an amazing husband, daddy to my babies, a super NCO, and just an all around great guy.

And yes, TTC military style is like another form of infertility!!! Training this month, school next month, and so forth....
Krissy - I just read your post I am active army and currently stationed in Mannheim, Germany. Do you know what post your husband is going to? We have quite a few here, but most of everyone goes to Coleman Barracks - it just depends on his MOS. Let me know! I'm excited!

Name? Liana

Branch? U.S. Army

Relationship? Spouse

How long TTC? On and off for a year

Anything else you want to add? My husband is Arkansas National Guard and I am active army stationed in Germany. My husband is currently on active orders deploying to Kosovo for 13 months. We get to see each other a few months out of the year, and so we hope TTC during that time! It's rough, and I'm glad I found this post!
