| trying for number 1 Hello! I am new here. I am currently trying for number one. I just finished my last pack of birth control pills a few days ago.
I respond to medicine side effects very well and am nervous that if I take prenatals I will feel upset to my stomach. I am taking filnstones vitamins for now instead because I heard this is the next best thing. Am I correct in doing this, or should I give the prenatals a shot?
Wish me luck!!! I am nervous and excited for the journey ahead. | | | | Status: Offline

Unfortunately I do believe you should be taking either a prenatal vitamin or a folic acid supplement. It is crucial in the early stages for your baby to have folic acid. If taking the vitamins is a problem you may try taking them with food (always helps me) or consult your doctor to see what other options are available.
Good luck in your TTC journey! |

| Okay, maybe I will give the vitamins a try and if they don't settle well I'll ask my doctor if maybe I could take the flinstones plus an extra vitamin with folic acid or something of the sort. Thanks for the advice and the luck wishes! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hello,
It's lovely here, everyone is very nice and helpful - hope you're not here too long though You can get folic acid on it's own, they should be able to tell you at your chemists if it can cause stomach problems other than that just eat lots of healthy food.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hello and welcome! I've never heard of getting side effects from folic acid- why not try them and see what happens? It's really best to be on the safe side! Good luck with TTC! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Gummybear! I'm not yet TTC, but have read that it's actually better to try taking vitamins (regular or prenatal) in the evening with dinner, as taking them in the morning actually increases the risk of nausea. I haven't tested it yet, but heard good things about doing this. If you haven't tried already, maybe you could give it a shot.
Good luck TTC! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi and welcome! I think folic acid is really important to take too, maybe have a word with your pharmacy to see if there's different brands which are easier on sensitive stomachs.
Good luck hon, hope you're not on this forum for too long! |
