We haven't told our parents yet. We are 20 and 22 and have been married and TTC for 3 months now. His parents will be ok - they never really show much emotion period - whatever... don't get me started on that.... My parents would say we are too young and JUST got married and I'm not quite finished with college yet.... However my mom *knows* (thinks) I'm still on the pill, but I think secretly she may have a small clue... She keeps talking about "when you guys have a family" and looking at baby things when we go shopping. It's really weird. When we first got married she would occasionally do the same thing but would always mention something about making sure we waited, and now wasn't the time, ect... So maybe she will be ok with it - needless to say we are still not telling anyone. I do plan on telling everyone as soon as we know simply because I'll be so thrilled and scared!

I haven't told anyone but OH has sort of hinted to his parents that we're talking about it. I don't want to tell anyone til after the first trimester, it's quite nice no one knowing about it for now. Really glad I've found this lovely forum though to discuss and obsess on

I used to think that I wanted to wait until after the 12 week scan to tell people but then I had an experience that changed my mind. My girlfriend told me and hubby that she was pregnant last month and we were (and acted) totally shocked! I know that I didn't want people's first reaction to be shock; I wanted it to be "congrats!" I think that no matter how expected the pregnancy is, people will always be shocked because it's such a major life change. So we decided to tell everyone (parents and friends) that we were trying so that they would get used to the idea.

Now all I need is that BFP!

Totally agree- the pressure is immense.
My hubby wanted to keep it all a secret, but I'm so rubbish at lying and when I get asked the above question-my face gives it away! so loads of our friends know, as does my sister and probably my parents. People at work also know as I'm a Reception Class teacher and lots of the illnesses that the children get can be harmful for pregnant women and people kind of gathered that I mihgt be trying so inform me straightaway.
