Is it safe.....

This has to be a really stupid question....but I need to know.

Does taking a bath rather than a shower have any effect on the Luteal Phase? When you are in water, I am sure some gets 'up there' and I don't know how far it goes - could it get into the cervix area and destroy any positive work going on in the uterus?

I suppose the same question applies to going swimming.

Can anyone answer my daft question?

I always wonder this... To be honest I avoid baths in the 2ww... Other posts on here have said they are fine as long as you don't have it too hot...

Also the cervix should close after ovulation I think, presumably to stop anything going in or out lol! That was just a random thought!

Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy (or potential pregnancy) should not take HOT baths (which really aren't very good for anyone, pregnant or not).
Warm baths (below 98 degrees F) are fine.

So nothing can 'get in there' and disturb anything then? I know the cervix is closed after ovulation but is it watertight?

I tried googling it but the only advice I found is like you say, not to take HOT baths or take saunas - basically anything which elevates your temperature.

Think I'll take showers to be safe

Can I ask, do you know why this is?

I have heard that pregnant women should not have HOT baths - but had heard it was just because you can become light headed??
