How quickly do the lines get darker on HPTs ?

Hi Girls!

Hope you can help me out.

When I was pregnant before I only used digital HPTs so I could see clearly they were positive (what a thrill even remembering them....).

I lost that baby, but we're trying again.
I started testing about 5 days ago (using cheapie internet strips- you know...the ones with the blue part and the absorbent part?)

Anyway....I first got clear BFNs but for the last 3 days I can see a little something- like an evap (sorry I couldn't upload them! )
If I was preg wouldn't they have gotten darker after 3 days?

Hoping a poas addict can shed some light!!!

They would have, but how hydrated you are would also have made a difference. I would buy a first responce test, if theres enough hormone to get a feint line on a IC then you should get a strong line on an early test.

I think the emphasis is on the line rather the colour, people obsess a lot on it but thats only the case with ovulation tests, a hpt just tests the presence of hormone, the concentration of the pee is what gives the colour, a line is a line hun

Its the hcg that gives you the colour though with a hpt. An evap is just a line with usually no colour, however I have seen coloured evaps as it is usually the pooling of the dye, hope that helps

I wish I could do one of those first response ones, but I live in Spain and they don't sell them here. Plus, the post is so slow- it wd take a week and I don't have the discipline to wait!! What I'll do is...if AF arrives I'll order some for next month. Thanks xxxx
