Cervix Position & Stuff :)

I'm spazzing out because I finally found my cervix!!

But how low is considered 'low' .. and how high is high! I can just feel it with the tip of my finger.

And what does it feel like when it's "hard" or "soft" ...

It feels open-ish and soft. But then again I have nothing to compare to?

I feel insane for being so happy that I finally felt it..!

The first time I felt mine, it felt like the head of a guy's penis.
I was like, "Holy crap, I'm a transsexual! I've got a dick up inside me!"

Kinda freaked me out.
I didn't know anything about anatomy at the time, and didn't know what was supposed to be up there.

Oh my, I'm seriously laughing out loud right now! But in all fairness, I would have been terrified if I hadn't known what I was looking for. I grew up thinking that all of that stuff was waaay out of reach (which is still a more comforting thought!).. I didn't know you could feel your cervix until we started TTC, and even then the thought of it made me queezy!

LOL!!

I've known about my cervix for quite a while - I guess I was an early explorer :P I ended up having CIN1 removed (pre cancerous cells) from my cervix and have been through pap smears, colposcopies, and later on surgery...

When it's low, you can normally feel it by half an index finger.
When it's high, you have to reach really quite far before you can even touch it.

No idea about the opening though - I have no idea what closed and open feels like, it all feels the same to me!

Thats exactly what I was wondering! Mine is def. low then.. which makes sense with my mid cycle bleed. But now I'll know what to look out for

I first felt mine (shortly) before I had kids, and it felt sort of round, like a ball, with a very small hole or slit in the middle of it.
After having kids, that hole is a lot bigger, at least on mine; more like a crater than the "dimple" that anatomy websites describe.

One would think this would make conception easier, but I've never heard that conceiving after childbirth is any easier. In fact- anecdotally, at least- it seems like many women who once got pregnant easily have difficulty conceiving a second or third child.

I once read: when you're ovulating, it's soft like your lips
When you're not ovulating, it's firm, like the tip of your nose.

Hope this helps, now off you go...you have some to do if you want that beanie!!! Enjoy
xx
