after ov, the egg travels down the fallopian tubes, where it can get fertilized, and then it implants in the uterus. since you are 8/9dpo, and it takes about a week for the egg to get to the uterus and then implant, it sounds promising!! i think about 20-30% of people get implantation bleeding...so looks like you may be in luck!! its way toooooo early for it to be af bleeeding GOOOOOOD LUCK!!!!

thanks ladies for the words of encouragement, I have some cramping again and the spotting seems heavier now, reddish brown in color. I'm too afraid to hope it's implantation bleeding, as I spot before AF comes anyway, but like I said it's so early for it to start. The only other thing I can think of is if I have a shorter luteal phase this month. how heavy can the bleeding be if it's implantation? Can it be a heavy spot? or does it always have to be a light spot of brown or pink? is every woman different? i go through this whenever the spotting starts, I get all hopeful then AF comes

I had a quite a bit of spotting before my BFP at the same sort of time as you, however I've not had a regular period since I came off BCP 4 years ago, after they didnt agree with me. Mine was quite heavy i thought AF was here but it went away a few hours later.

edited to add: Mine was also bright red in colour mostly.
