| Pregnant (Expecting) Active BnB Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 191 | Stopped mini pill and no sign of ovulation yet...bit of advice please? Hi all - I'm new to all this, we've just started TTC our first. I'm 31 and hubby is 34 so we're a little anxious about our ages and whether we've left it a bit late. I have been on Femulen - the mini pill - for 7 years and have had periods throughout as normal on the mini pill. I stopped taking it around the start of my last period (17th Jan), and, according to FF, I should have ovulated this weekend. I bought some ebay ovulation test strips and I have still yet to get a positive or line of any sort!  Does anyone know if women ovulate every month or whether it may have been delayed by me stopping the pill... or if I may have a problem?  sorry if these are silly questions, as I said, I'm new to all this and don't know a lot about it! | Mum (Mom) Chat Happy BnB Member  Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: VA Posts: 1,317 | I agree with ronshi, you will probably have to wait until your first "real" period (as in, not a withdrawl bleed from stopping BC) and then start trying to figure out your ovulation day then. When I told my doctor that I was going to start TTC she told me it takes anywhere from 3 months to a year for your body to regulate itself back into normal cycles. For me, it took exactly three months and loads of OPKs to figure out my ovulation day. If you still plan on TTC right after coming off BC, then just BD every other day. You may get lucky  |

I don't personally chart my temps because the change is so subtle it was hard to pinpoint my ovulation on it. But lots of women swear by it. It can help you feel like you're preparing for TTC too (gives you something to do so you don't go crazy!  )http://www.fertilityfriend.com |
