1st round provera & Clomid - question about amounts

Hi everyone,

Excited to be trying provera and clomid after NOTHING for so long...

Have been prescribed 5mg Provera for 5 days, then 50mg Clomid for 5 days (starting on 2nd day of bleeding) - does this sound right to those of you with experience of taking these? Did you ovulate on the first round?

Having blood tests to check if ovulated on the 21st day of the 2nd cycle.

Fingers crossed - hope it works!!

it sounds right to me hun .... i took norethiterone to bring on AF and then on second day i took 50mg clomid for 5 days ... just waiting on AF to start my second round

i had 21 day bloods and my results came back at 2.2 so 50mg didn't work for me ...

there's a group in the long term TTC called clomid club u should join i'm a part of it and there's some great support there from me and the other clomid girls xx

megs, I see your now a Mum, congrats! I have a question for you? did it work first time? I am on CD107 (I think! lol) starting to lose count, I am starting provera on wed 29th 10mg twice daily (1 in morning and 1 at night) to bring on AF then I am onto Clomid for the first time 50mg days 2-6, very excited but very nervous, any experience you can share would be great, thanks x

hey!
I had provera and 50mg clomid on my first cycle (currently cd36 waiting for the next cycle)
I failed to ovulate on the 50mg so will be taking 100mg next cycle.

thank you scerena, I am excited and nervous, scare even of it not working, he said if 50mg doesn't make me ovulate then he will bump it up to 100mg.

Sorry it didn't work for you first time, are you taking provera to induce af again this time?

fx'd it works for you hun 50mg works for a lot of girls...
Im not sure yet im having a scan on monday to check my lining if its thicker then i will have to have provera- if not then they said I will probably just start my next dose- so probably provera I expect.
I know it must be horrible not knowing if it is working!- it was horrible not knowing for just 12 days x

good luck for your scan and next dose, I have to wait and start provera on wed 29th, I am looking forward to af coming so we can start clomid and actually "feel" as though we are trying, as for the past while we have thought that all our attempts to bd have been for nothing (probably the case - but we were too scared to stop....just incase!) maybe we will be close together in cycles, it would be good to go through this with someone, keep me updated x

I bet you cant wait- nor can I. I will definately keep you updated as I will have to wait two days for a provera presciption anyway so if i do take it it will be the 29/30th

Ive just made a thread for people taking clomid trying to get everyone who takes it on one thread so we can all talk etc.

Hi, I'm so sorry, i've only just seen these replies!!! Bit late, but will answers q's anyway in case anyone reads!

Lily, for me it did work first time - I was lucky. Are you in the Clomid Club thread? I found it helpful and comforting... I do know that for some they have o up the Clomid dose - I can see on your sig that you've done that and are now trying something else? GOOD LUCK and I really hope you get that BFP soon
